Finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is one of the most important parts of the process, and for some people, that includes finding a good match in a male therapist.
At Joyful Living Behavioral Health, our team includes several. Brennon brings a trauma-focused, strengths-based approach for teens and adults. Seth works primarily with kids and families, blending play therapy with warmth and patience. Thomas offers multilingual, affirming care in English, Spanish, and German. Drew brings more than three decades of experience supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma, and recovery. Each brings his own style, but they share a Joyful Living's commitment to meeting clients with genuine care.
Swipe through to (digitally) meet them, and save this if you've been spending time looking for the right fit!
As a therapist and clinical supervisor with 25 years of experience, Joy built this practice around a simple idea: that both clients and clinicians should feel genuinely cared for.
Her vision was a supportive, collaborative environment where therapists can do meaningful work, and where clients can find someone who truly fits their needs.
A few things she wants you to know: you don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. It can help you strengthen relationships, recognize patterns, build new skills, and live more intentionally. The Joyful Living Behavioral Health team is diverse, so there's room to find a therapist who feels like the right fit for you, whether you're an individual, a couple, or a family.

There's a lot of outdated thinking about what therapy is and who it's for, and those myths can keep people from support that might genuinely help. We wanted to clear a few things up. As our founder Joy puts it, you don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy; it can help you improve your relationships, recognize patterns, build new skills, and live more intentionally. Growth doesn't stop once you've learned a few tools (even Joy, a therapist of 25 years, sees her own therapist).
Therapy is for anyone seeking support, healing, or growth. Swipe through as we bust a few common myths, and save this or share it with someone who might need the reminder!

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and we want it to feel like a welcoming one from the very beginning.
Joyful Living Behavioral Health is a boutique group practice rooted in inclusion, honesty, respect, and integrity. We see each person as a whole individual, not just a set of symptoms, and we're proud to be a trauma-informed space that welcomes people from all cultures, backgrounds, and the LGBTQIA+ community. When you reach out, you'll speak with a real person, not a recording, and we'll take the time to understand where you are and where you'd like to be.
Wherever you are on your journey, you're welcome here. Learn more about our practice on our website!

Depression isn't always obvious. Sometimes it looks like sadness, but other times it shows up as fatigue, a loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, or changes in how you sleep and eat.
It's one of the most common experiences people bring to therapy, and it's treatable. Support offers a space to understand what you're going through and to build tools that help, whether through approaches like CBT, interpersonal therapy, or mindfulness. You don't have to push through it on your own.

Meet Seth Murphy, Professional Counselor Associate at Joyful Living Behavioral Health.
Seth earned his master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bushnell University, following a bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. He primarily works with pediatric clients ages 6 and older, and also has experience supporting clients across all stages of life. With teens and adults, his style is trauma-informed, direct, strength-based, and solution-focused, drawing on CBT. With younger clients, he uses trauma-informed, client-led play therapy integrated with family therapy principles, believing that parental involvement is essential to meaningful progress. His specialties include trauma disorders, life transitions, school and family related issues, depression, and anxiety.
Outside of work, Seth enjoys exploring nature, traveling, resistance training, and basketball, and he's currently working toward his Open Water Scuba Diving certification.

The way we see ourselves shapes so much of daily life: the chances we take, the boundaries we set, the relationships we build. When self-esteem is low, it can show up as constant self-criticism or a quiet sense of never quite measuring up.
Those feelings often have roots worth understanding, whether in early experiences, comparison, perfectionism, or past relationships. Therapy offers a space to recognize where those beliefs began and to gently work toward a kinder, steadier relationship with yourself.
Swipe through for a closer look, and save this as a reminder to be a little gentler with yourself!

Sometimes anxiety is easy to name. Other times it just shows up as restlessness, tension, or a mind that won't slow down.
It's one of the most common experiences people bring to therapy, and it's something you can learn to work with. Anxiety counseling offers a safe space to explore what's underneath the worry, identify your triggers, and build practical tools like reframing unhelpful thoughts and grounding yourself through mindfulness. Over time, those tools become something steady you can come back to.

As the days get shorter and the pace of fall sets in, it's common to notice a shift in how you feel. Lower energy, changes in sleep, a dip in motivation, or a heavier mood can all come with the change of season.
For many people, small steps help: keeping consistent routines, getting outside for natural light, staying connected, and being patient with yourself as you adjust. When a low mood lingers or starts to affect daily life, that's worth paying attention to. Support is available, and reaching out is always okay.
Swipe through for a few gentle reminders as we move into fall, and save this for the season ahead!
