American Lt. Col. James Siibo of Rwanda heritage retires after 26 years in U.S. military.
The ceremony was held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the GAO Building, 441 G Street NW, where military colleagues, family members, friends, and other guests gathered to recognize Siibo’s career and celebrate his transition from military service.
The event included presentations, congratulations, and personal exchanges reflecting the relationships he developed during his decades of service.
Rushville, Illinois came alive on September 6 for the 16th Annual African Community Day Celebration, bringing people together at Rushville’s historic Central Park and Town Square for a vibrant celebration of African heritage, culture, community, and unity.

The annual gathering welcomed visitors, community leaders, organizations, and special guests for a day highlighting the diversity and contributions of African and diaspora communities.

Just in : The death of veteran Nigerian actor Olu Jacobs at the age of 84 has prompted tributes across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with fans and colleagues remembering a career that spanned more than five decades.
Jacobs, whose full name was Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, was one of Nigeria’s most recognisable actors. He began his career in British theatre and television before appearing in international films and eventually becoming one of the most respected figures in Nollywood. He dies on September 16, 2026 at the age of 84.

LEBRON JAMES & WILL SMITH SPOTTED IN LUANDA
NBA superstar LeBron James and Actor Will Smith were among the A-list celebrities in Luanda, Angola, as the E1 World Championship made its historic southern African debut over the weekend.
The electric powerboat racing championship arrived in southern Africa for the first time, following its African continental debut last year in Lagos, Nigeria.
James’ presence added major star power to the landmark international sporting event in the Angolan capital. 🌍🏁🇦🇴
