E- Learning Day | Monday, January 26, 2026
Winter weather continues with bitter temperatures and accumulated precipitation from the weekend. For the safety of our students and staff, we will utilize another E-Learning day on Monday, January 26, 2026. The safety of students who stand at bus stops or walk to school remains our top priority.
This decision was made with student safety at the forefront, especially for those who wait at bus stops or walk to school. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate these weather conditions together. Stay warm and stay safe.
Students are expected to log in for instruction. Attendance will be taken and recorded as follows:
Elementary School: Attendance will be taken during their scheduled Google Meet session with their teacher. Students should log in to Canvas and join the Google Meet session during the time provided by their teacher.
Middle School & High School: Students must log into InfoSystem to confirm their attendance.
Attendance will be processed at the end of the day.
Students that DO NOT log into the Infosystem will be marked absent.
Teachers can also request attendance changes based on student participation.
Students and families should check email and Canvas for instruction updates from their school. For more information, please visit our E-Learning webpage.
Project SCOPE will be open for currently enrolled SCOPE students from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. at four combined locations. Please visit the SCOPE webpage to see where your child should attend SCOPE on an E-Learning Day.
Please contact your student’s school with any direct questions about e-learning.
As always, be safe and happy learning. We appreciate your patience as we navigate through an e-learning day.

Due to extreme cold temperatures, Springfield Public Schools District 186 will hold an e-learning day on Friday, January 23, 2026.
This decision was made with student safety at the forefront, especially for those who wait at bus stops or walk to school. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate these weather conditions together. Stay warm and stay safe.
We have enacted our E-Learning day plan that allows students to receive asynchronous instruction at home, in lieu of using an emergency day that would result in an additional at the end of the school year. To learn more about District 186’s E-Learning plan visit our E-Learning webpage. If families have any questions, we ask that they contact their school directly.
Project SCOPE will be open for currently enrolled SCOPE students from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. at four combined locations. Please visit the SCOPE webpage to see where your child should attend SCOPE on an E-Learning Day.
Please note that the Bank of Springfield City Tournament will continue as scheduled. For all other extracurricular activities, please check with your school's administration.

We hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving Break. We will see all students and staff at school tomorrow to begin a short three weeks of learning to end the semester before Winter Break.
We are monitoring AccuWeather for snowfall predictions in our region for Monday night. It is hard to predict if the weather will materialize. Please check for messaging on Monday evening as this snow is not predicted to develop before 4:00 pm. It is always good to have a family plan in case we need to pivot to a snow day or e-learning day due to inclement weather.
Remember to dress warm with appropriate shoes for wet sidewalks and bus stops.
