TBSA Indians 14U are a select travel baseball club located in Springfield, Illinois

What a weekend in Indianapolis at Grand Park. #1 seed out of 32 teams, 6-0,
outscored our opponents 43-6, 6 complete games by our pitching staff and
tourney champions. To say I am a proud coach is an understatement. Last
weekend was rough, very disappointing. We had a tough talk and I challenged
the boys after the last loss. We went into this tourney shorthanded with 9
players, and did they deliver. They were better in every aspect of the game.
Quality AB's by everyone, Great defense, Excellent baserunning, Our bench
was LIVE, Great Communication, Picking each other up........I can go on and
on. I pound it into their heads "The little things matter." So proud of
these boys!

Good pitching, good defense and our bats spread the ball all over the field today. Set ourselves up for a good run on Sunday with the #1 seed

Early practice then headed out to watch some college baseball, McKendree vs UIS. TBSA Indians 18U coach Mason Hale is starting catcher for McKendree and works with some of our guys. UIS put on a show with the bats in game one (8 HR’s I believe 👀). Nice to get out and catch a game!
Finished up practice on a serious note. Who can hit the Griddy the best?
Got after it today. But….. I’m ready for Spring!

Boys got after it today. But let’s be honest, I’m ready for spring weather and getting outside!
Thanks to RJ Jimmerson (SHG), Seth Parkinson (Rochester) and Conrad Charpentier (Routt Catholic) for helping out today. RJ and Seth did a great job talking to the boys about competing, focusing on the details and about the mental side of the game. Getting better every week!

Boys got after it today! But let’s be honest, I’m ready for Spring weather so we can get outside!
Fastball only Live AB’s, I love it. Hitters know what’s coming so pitchers have to hit spots and miss barrels. One of my big emphasis with pitchers I work with is being diverse with your fastballs. Two and four seam, cutters and sinkers. Understanding how pressure, rotation, pronation feel etc… dictate pitches. This group has had some good success and love how they’re learning how to pitch, not throw.
Few highlights from the weekend practice. Cash Conkrite busting in with a 2 seam to set up the outside corner, Brody Landon getting some run on his cutter, Some heat followed up by some filthy sinker action from Cody Zimdars (even fooled his catcher) and little bat flip from Maxx Grieme. Live AB’s are all about competing. Don’t forget to have some fun 😜
