Back in spring 2024, I spent a day walking the Chadwick Flyer Trail on the Greenways, taking photos and videos of nature along the trail. There were colorful butterflies, blooming flowers, peaceful scenery, and even a tiny baby snapping turtle that made the day feel even more memorable. I turned the experience into an Instagram reel that I still love because it captured such a calm and beautiful moment in nature. The only thing I didn’t like was the thumbnail, since it didn’t really fit the vibe of the reel the way I wanted it to.
Exploring the Ozarks one backroad and creek at a time.
Nothing but rock bluffs, running water, and miles of wilderness. Exactly where I needed to be.
Early Spring at the Lake
The trees are still waking up, but life is already everywhere if you slow down enough to notice it. Tadpoles in the shallows, turtles soaking up the sun, ducks drifting across the water, tiny forget-me-nots blooming along the trail, and even the pawpaw trees beginning to leaf out.
Just a quiet day exploring early spring around Lake Springfield and noticing the small things that make the season feel alive again.

Spent the day in Chadwick, Missouri chasing the dogwoods and completely forgot how many beautiful woodland wildflowers and wildlife show up in early spring. Every spring I see something new and blooming — a good reminder to slow down and look closer.
Spring at Busiek State Forest just hits different 🌿🐾 Emma and I spent the afternoon wandering one of our favorite trails, splashing through the creek, soaking up the golden light, and enjoying the quiet moments that make these walks so special. Simple days like this always end up being the ones I remember most.

Spring is officially here when the forsythia finally bursts into that iconic, electric yellow! 🌼 These “golden bells” are one of nature’s first signs that warmer days are ahead, lighting up the garden before the leaves even wake up.

Bradford pear blossoms are strange—smelling awful from a distance, but surprisingly sweet up close. Still, they always mark the quiet arrival of early spring.
Took a trip down to Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area to catch the daffodils blooming and take in the Branson scenery. Had my camera with me for a few shots, but mostly just enjoyed the calm, spring atmosphere.

If you're in Branson, Missouri, you need to explore this hidden gem of a stair workout at the Branson Wilderness. I went for the daffodils, but ended up loving the stunning views of spring. Even when the flowers aren't in bloom, it's still a fantastic spot for a scenic walk or hike, with the stairs offering a fun challenge. Plus, you'll discover some cool historical facts along the way.

Spent a peaceful walk at Compton Hollow Conservation Area in Rogersville, Missouri a couple of weeks ago. Trails were covered in fresh snow and the landscapes were gorgeous. Had to stop and capture a few shots along the way.
