I wish I could give you some good reason for my absence, but, I can't. I'm just feeling...hopeless. I guess.

All of this, all the warnings and information, and we still ended up here. Watching rich men set the world on fire because they think their way of mistreating people is the only "right" way.

I made a joke yesterday about growing up the kind of poor where you know what days the groceries stores cash checks so you can float an empty bank account till payday and still eat.

And that's not an option anymore.

Or it is, but we call it Klarna and attach a moral judgment to it, writing opinion pieces about kids these days financing a burrito and WE never did that.

All of these people who worked hard and "made it" aren't realizing what they did isn't possible anymore.

People dying.
People being disappeared by the government.
Coorporations learning that we have to pay what they demand, so, once they raise prices for *insert reason* there is no reason to bring them back down.

And the advice is all, have you considered a life that isn't worth living? You could afford that.

We thought the systems, the institutions, the checks and balances would hold, and they haven't.

And, here is the thing, I'm not actually depressed. I'm not in danger. I'm fine. I have just, walked away I guess.

I feel like I could do the info dumps without even bothering to open one news source because it's all so predictable and aggravating.

I've been working on my gardens for spring. I picked up more hours at work. About 3x what I had. Which sounds impressive until you realize I wasn't actually working that many hours to begin with and my job is "do what mom says". I decided since I had the opportunity to pick up hours, and I'm too disgusted to spend any money I don't have to right now, so I'll throw myself into that and save and/or pay off debts.

And another thing (I'm on a roll I guess) I'm tired of everything having to be optimized and ready for consumption. I don't need new jeans to make me look thinner. I don't need to replace the sofa. I don't need to make a hobby into a job. I don't need a travel mug in every color because then I can post a video and make $0.12.

In other news, at the end of this month I will have paid off two student loans 4 years early. (and yes, I'm still for forgiveness!) I've crocheted a wrap I LOVE, and it keeps my hands busy. I'm working on making Hulk a blanket now. My yard is basically the atlanta airport for birds. I figured out how to make a fairly convincing white mocha as well as a knock off pink drink. The kids are good. Hulk moved to days and he's happy. His car is in the shop and he's having to drive the '93 S10 and not happy about it. Zoom is proving over and over again he's some sort of mechanical wizard who keeps convincing his job to pay for training they tell him they won't. I keep threatening to throw an air mattress and the dog in the back of the Outback and disappearing.

I'm here. I'm angry. I'm quiet. Life is good. The world is trash.

I homeschooled my kids. So, I still get a lot of suggested pages having to do with that. Yesterday a woman asked what everyone was teaching their kids about the current war and SO MANY PEOPLE were like 1. it isn't a war, because Congress. LEARN SOMETHING and 2: this is in the Bible so we already know everything we need to know.

And this is why I didn't make very many homeschool mom friends.

I'm just gonna start taking the tag suggestions that come up when I type. I follow a lot of small businesses and pages and know that getting seen can be important. So, sure, why not?

Today, Trump claims the US can fight forever, however our stockpile of munitions says differently. I believe we are now up to 7 reasons for why we went after Iran. The current scariest? Worst? Is because God wants to use Trump to bring about Armageddon. This “emergency” seems a likely front for federalizing elections in the future. We also were involved in military operations in Ecuador.

The DOJ is once again allowing “no-knock” warrants which were put under increased scrutiny after Breonna Taylor was killed. Minnesota is launching an invesitation of federal immigration officers. DHS is claiming Noem is obstructing their work.

James Talarico has won the Democratic Senate nomination, beating out Jasmine Crockett, while the GOP race goes to a runoff.
