I’ve spent the last couple of days with my daughter and nine of her closest friends and their moms! It was a trip for memory books. Thankful for the time with my girl…. But ready to get back to the radio! 📻

We are days away from having a 16-year-old in the house and I’m questioning where all the time went!

(Fun fact- I bought the kids coordinating outfits for the wedding, without them know… Too bad the shirt was too big on the boy. 😢)

I grew up watching Dan cover the Marshfield High School Lady Jays... and I had the luck to work with him for 4 years at Kolr10 & Fox. (It's true, the man doesn't age. Slightly jealous of that!)

Early in my time there I watched a young anchor accidently scroll past his entire sports block. I watched Dan go blind through the sports segment like a PRO and when the commercial came, I was waiting for him to blow his lid. He never did. He said, "no biggie, it happens" and that was it. From that point on, I was a BIG Dan Lucy fan.

The way his nearly 4 decades has come to an end is wrong. He deserves better and I know I'm not the only one to think so. I can't wait to see where he lands because I know he has more stories of Ozarks athletes to tell! And I've told him.... Radio is where it's at! ;)

OPINION: After 37 years on KOLR 10, sports director Dan Lucy's contract was not renewed and his position was eliminated. Lyndal Scranton says Lucy's philosophy was always about giving others their due and covering local sports in an even-handed fashion.
