Springdale Senior Activity and Wellness Center

Today we partnered with some Walmart home office employees for pickleball and lunch. Each employee was paired with a senior for a pickleball tournament. There were some amazing matches! Thank you to Chase and Debi for overseeing the fun.

We need some volunteers to help us set up for our big party on Saturday. We need help Friday at 12:30 PM. Please comment below if you are able.

For those that are heading North to Alaska with us…we will have a meeting Wednesday June 17 at 10:00am to go over all details. Please plan on attending.

Want to have some fun? Join us Saturday June 13 board our “cruise ship” for bingo, cruise pasta buffet and a hilarious show. Bring the entire family, it will be fun for all. This event is almost sold out. Call and reserve your ticket at 751-1521. 

I have said for years I feel like God uses the Senior Center as a vessel to bring people together. I have watched it for years. Here is a prime example. These 4 ladies came to the center not knowing each other. They all 4 walked different paths through life. They all got to know each other through trips and different activities at the center. Now they volunteer together, are roommates on trips, do their own thing on the weekend together and say they have never had truer friends. If you are setting at home and want to make friends, we invite you to come find your people just like these ladies! I promise you will be glad you did.

Today was our Par-Tea day. All they knew was to dress their tea time best and they did just that! Thank you to the singing Woman of NWA and Chase for entertaining us, to the many volunteers that help set up and serve, to North Hills Rehab & Bluecross Blueshield for the door prizes, and to the staff for going above and beyond. I have been planning this day since last year and seeing all these happy faces was pure joy for me!

Calling all Pickleball players… we have a walmart division of 20 employees that would like to partner with 20 Senior Pickleball players for a fun team bonding tournament. It will be June 10 @ 9:45am. Then you will eat lunch with your partner if this sounds like something you would like to do, please sign up with Chase in person. 

Not even the rain can stop our Time Bandit Adventure Club. Today they went to Lost Valley to hike and enjoy lunch. Like adventure? Watch our newsletter and join us next time. Chase is doing an amazing job at finding adventures for all.

Tuesday at 9 AM is adventure club hike. They are going to the area of Ponca wear old shoes that you don’t care to get muddy. We have three openings if you would like to go, comment below first come first serve. They are leaving at 9 AM and then we’ll have a picnic lunch.
