🇲🇭🇲🇭We are closed today - Jemenei Day 2026 🇲🇭🇲🇭

Today, May 1st, we celebrate 47 years of independence!

No matter how far or scattered across the globe we may be, today the RMI Consulate Arkansas stands in solidarity with all our Marshallese communities in today’ s celebrations.

As we commemorate the adoption of our constitution, and the solidification of our sovereignty as a self-governing nation, may today also be a call to hold onto our identity, culture, and roots while navigating life away from home.

Jeramman Republic of the Marshall Islands. Anij en kojbarok im kojeraman yuk elablôk.

CG Anjanette Anjel was at Springdale High School yesterday to witness the very first inductment of a Marshallese athlete into an NCAA Division 1 basketball program.

Charlene Hudson, daughter of Charles Hudson and Kayleen Edwards made history as she signed a full Division 1 basketball scholarship agreement with the University of Mississippi, a testament to years of high-level training, resilience, academic dedication and capacity to excel.

Enrolling in an NCAA D1 program represents the highest level of collegiate athletics in the United States, requiring elite skill, dedication, and intense recruiting efforts.

The RMI Consulates Arkansas salutes Ms. Charlene on this massive achievement, for it not only paves the way for our upcoming high school athletes, but is also an inspiration to our Marshallese diaspora.

RMI Consulate Visits Paragould and Pocahontas

Monday April 27 - 28, 2026 - RMI Consulate’s Outreach Coordinator, Ms. Carolina Edwin-Tarbwillin, along with MEI’s Outreach team which included Ms. Marcina Langrine and Ms. Molina Bien, joined Black River Technical College (BRTC) Admission Team earlier this week in a joint visit to Paragould and Pocahontas high schools.

The purpose of the visit was to help promote BRTC’s newly funded technical training and workforce certification programs available to high school students. This tuition free dual enrollment model allows high school students to take college-level courses, earning both high school and college credit simultaneously, with the advantage of becoming career ready right out of high school.

In the past, the Consulate has worked with BRTC in providing the necessary enrollment documents for our Marshallese students such as passports, birth certificates, and I94s.

Before leaving Paragould, Outreach Team was also able to sit down and visit with the Marshallese community in Paragould, and listened to their concerns, opinions, and issues that they might have in their local community. The team, however, had to cut their outreach efforts short due to severe tornado outbreaks in the area.
