Our Community. Our Future.
Friends, here's some legal advice:
Community warning as we head into storm season🌪️⛈️!
Every spring after severe weather, out-of-state "contractors" roll into town offering fast repairs for damaged roofs, siding, and vehicles (e.g., hail damage). Unfortunately, some of them are scammers who take your payment or insurance payout and disappear just as quickly.
As an attorney, I handled several cases this past year where people lost tens of thousands of dollars this way from last spring's hail storm, alone. Once these individuals leave the state, it can be very difficult to recover the money.
Please be careful before hiring anyone who shows up offering such services after a disaster - particularly out of state companies. Be sure to ensure that the contactor is licensed and reputable, and ideally based in our community (support local).
A little caution now can save a lot of money and frustration later. Spread the word!

Thanks to Mayor Sprouse for this clarifying message regarding the current immigration situation affecting our community.
“We recognize that to police effectively, we must have the trust and cooperation of all our residents. Victims of crime and witnesses to criminal activity must feel safe coming forward to speak with our officers.
If victims and witnesses believe that our officers are actively targeting them for deportation rather than protecting them from local crime, that trust is eroded, and everyone in Springdale becomes less safe.
We are committed to serving every person who lives, works, and visits Springdale with dignity and respect.” - Mayor Sprouse
