Our Lilac Trace residents rolled up their sleeves and headed outdoors to spruce up the courtyard and prepare our planters for a season of homegrown vegetables! Gardening is the perfect way to enjoy a little sunshine, get your hands dirty, and spend quality time with friends. We can't wait to watch our garden grow all summer long!

Today is The Longest Day, the summer solstice and the day with the most daylight. Across the country and around the world, people are raising awareness and supporting the fight against Alzheimer's disease.

We would also like to recognize the residents of our Lilac Trace Memory Care neighborhood, many of whom are living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. They hold a special place in our hearts, and it is a privilege to care for them and support their families each day.

Thursday's Father’s Day celebration was one to remember! Our dads enjoyed an afternoon of burgers, brats, and cold drinks while spending quality time with family and friends on a beautiful day outdoors. Filled with laughter, great conversation, and delicious food fresh off the grill, it was the perfect way to honor the wonderful fathers who mean so much to our community.

Today, we honor Juneteenth, marking the historic day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. This day stands as a testament to the strength, perseverance, and enduring contributions of the African American community. It also invites us to reflect on our shared history and recommit ourselves to building a future rooted in equity, opportunity, and justice for all.

Our residents were happy to lend a helping hand as we prepared for today's The Longest Day® fundraiser benefiting the Alzheimer's Association.

Join us today from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a drive-through lunch. Each boxed lunch includes a hot dog, chips, a cookie, and a drink for just $5.

Thank you for helping us support such an important cause and make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.

Flag Day, celebrated each year on June 14, honors the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States. We are proud to be home to so many patriotic residents whose love for our country shines through each and every day. Their pride, spirit, and smiles make this celebration especially meaningful.

We are grateful for our partnership with Day City Hospice and the support they bring to our residents and families. In addition to Pastor Ralph’s weekly Monday Bible Study, Day City now offers a Dementia Education & Support Group for residents, families, friends, and caregivers on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 4:00 PM. We were thrilled to welcome 11 attendees and look forward to many more meaningful discussions ahead.
