A virtual tutoring and educational advocacy business devoted to helping your child grow and learn

Today I have a story to tell....
In 2015, I started tutoring my first student. She was in 5th grade and really needed help with math, especially memorizing her multiplication facts.
Learning her math facts turned into learning algebra and helping her learn to navigate College Credits Plus... communicating with a testing center, self-advocating with professors and excelling in Spanish, Chemistry, and even Calculus.
I was along for the ride when she received her associates degree at 15, and bachelor's degree in Physiology and Neuroscience at 19, starting her Master's....We grew to be more like sisters than tutor and student, she would touch base every so often, and even came to visit for a weekend.

Then the text came... "can you help me study for my MCAT?"
"Certainly!"
This summer I got to write a medical school recommendation letter and yesterday she was accepted!
It has been my joy to teach and mentor this sweet young lady and I am delighted to see prayers answered and dreams pursued! I cannot wait to see where her future takes her!

Lydia Ann made her debut Friday, December 15th at 7:25 pm.

She is beautifully healthy and we are already home in recovery.

My plan will be to take these next several weeks and over the holiday to recover, heal, and bond and to resume all tutoring sessions Tuesday, January 16th (day after MLK). Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! If you need me for something specific, in the mean time, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We have some exciting news! The Lord has blessed us with a baby girl! Assuming she arrives close to "on time," I plan to take the month of December off this year. BUT, if you need an on call session, please don't hesitate to reach out during that time. Thank you all for being such loyal clients and great friends!

On the academic fast track 04/17/2023

This sweet young lady was my first ever tutoring student! Over the 8+ years that I have known/worked with Drew she has gone from lacking multiplication table memorization to soon having a Neuroscience degree under the age of 20. Drew, I am so proud of all you have learned and how you have grown. A couple years ago Drew and I discussed how odd it was for her to reference me as her "tutor" when she was excelling. Now I tell people she is more like a younger sister. Keep honoring God with your life Drew, and REACH FOR YOUR DREAMS!

On the academic fast track Drew Sprenkel, an 18-year-old junior neuroscience major, benefits from mentorship with Wright State President Sue Edwards. Continue reading →
