Photographing audiovisual design in a church presents some unique challenges — low light, mixed color temperatures, and balancing bright screens with the ambient space. I recently captured this AV control setup for an audiovisual design company, showing how the technology supports the experience of the sanctuary while staying integrated with the architecture. Always interesting work behind the scenes.

One of the perks of food photography is being able to photograph preparation and plating right in your own kitchen. Working in a familiar space makes it easier to focus on the details — the ingredients, the cooking process, and the final presentation. Sometimes the most comfortable environment is the perfect place to create.

Church spaces can be challenging environments to photograph AV installations. Between low ambient light, bright display screens, and the need to preserve the atmosphere of the sanctuary, it takes careful balance to capture everything accurately. I recently photographed this control system for an audiovisual design company, documenting the technology that helps support the experience in the room. It’s always interesting to highlight the work that happens behind the scenes.

He was the best boy. Always full of tail wags, barks for the squirrels, kisses for your face and ever ready for a treat. The pain of losing him is worth the joy of having him in my life 🌈 💕 🐾

Coordinating team headshots can feel like a big project, but it doesn’t have to be. Our process allows us to photograph multiple individual headshots and group shots in one efficient session that keeps things organized and moving quickly. Most teams are surprised by how smooth — and relatively painless — the experience can be. The result is a consistent, professional look across your entire team.

One of the things I enjoy about food photography is capturing the entire process — from preparation to plating. Recently, I photographed someone preparing healthy dishes, and the details of the ingredients, cooking, and final presentation all help tell the story of the food. Good photography makes you appreciate not just the meal, but the care that goes into creating it. Bonus: I got to work from home that day in my own kitchen.

Lighting design can be one of the trickiest things to photograph. I recently had the opportunity to capture the lighting installation at Kid Clubhouse space for Ovation Audiovisual. Balancing vibrant colors and the mood of the lighting while maintaining the integrity of the space always takes careful attention. A fun project and a great example of how lighting transforms a space.

One of the best parts of being a commercial photographer in the Dayton / Cincinnati area is seeing how far great images can go.
I recently photographed a project for a local architect, with a strong emphasis on lighting design and architectural details.
Those images caught the attention of a lighting manufacturer, who has now licensed several for their own marketing use.
It’s a great reminder—when your project is photographed intentionally, it doesn’t just get documented… it gets noticed.
If you’re an architect, builder, or business owner, investing in professional architectural photography can extend the reach of your work in ways you might not expect.
