Yesterday, Saturday, September 12, approximately 35 members of the community met for the Celebration and Rededication of the Springboro Orthodox Quaker Cemetery at 145 E. Market Street. The ceremony included a welcome from the Historical Society and Mayor John Agenbroad, a Historical Presentation, Recognition of the Restoration with special thanks to the High Concrete Group, a Period of Silent Worship and the Dedication. Attendees also received a brochure of a brief biography of who are remembered in this cemetery. We are so thankful for those who braved the raindrops to dedicate this "sacred space". If you were unable to attend some copies of the ceremony program as well as copies of the brief biographical sketches are available at the museum.

Today we remember- lives lost, lives changed and all who served.

September 11 is Patriot Day. We Will Never Forget.
On this National Day of Remembrance, we honor those lives lost and thank all who have served.

25 years ago tonight, most of us went to sleep like any other night. Most of us probably didn’t even think about tomorrow and when we got up it seemed like any other day.

And yet the day quickly changed. If you are like me, you probably remember most of Sept 11, 2001 and how it impacted you or those you knew and loved.

The Historical Society would like to know more about your memories, but we know that for many this may be private or not something you would want posted on social media. If you are willing to share, please send us an email at [email protected]. And we will add it to the SAHS archives.
