Today’s summer camp adventure took us to the Ohio Sports Academy, where Officer Morgan had the opportunity to spend time with some incredible young campers!

The kids asked great questions, learned a little about police work, and of course got to explore one of their favorite parts of the visit, the police cruiser!

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to connect with our community’s youth, build positive relationships, and remind kids that their local officers are always here to help.

Thank you to everyone at Ohio Sports Academy for welcoming us and making us part of your summer adventure!

Officer Blue was invited to visit the preschool camp at the YMCA this morning and had an absolute blast making new friends!

The campers were excited to meet him, share some pets, and learn all about his important job as a comfort and care dog.

But, honestly…the kids weren’t his only fans today. Officer Blue somehow managed to collect a whole crowd of adult friends too, greeting everyone in the lobby and outside with his signature wagging tail and happy smile.

We’re pretty sure they came to see him, not work out…

Thank you to the YMCA for inviting Officer Blue to spend part of his morning with your campers. He loves every opportunity to spread smiles, comfort, and a little bit of Blue joy throughout our community!

A big THANK YOU to Kelli and the team at Hillspring for treating our staff to a hot, fresh pizza lunch today!

We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and support shown to our department. Community partnerships like these mean so much to us, and gestures of appreciation remind our officers and staff that the work they do is valued.

Thank you for your generosity, your support, and for helping make our day a little brighter. We are fortunate to have community partners like Hillspring standing beside us.

Introducing the 2026 Heart of Springboro award winner, Thomson Howard.

Our community is filled with young people who are making a difference every day through kindness, compassion, service, and leadership. These qualities can’t be measured by grades, trophies, or titles, but they are what makes Springboro so special.

This year we were proud to present the award to Thomson Howard, a young man whose servant’s heart, dedication to helping others, and commitment to his community remind us that you are never too young to make a difference.

The heart of Springboro award was created to recognize youth who lead with their character, help others without seeking recognition and inspire those around them through their actions.

Do you know a child who represents the heart of Springboro? Someone who consistently shows kindness, serves others, demonstrates leadership, or goes above and beyond to make our community a better place?

We want to hear about them!

To nominate a child, please contact Officer Morgan (937) 748-6852 or [email protected])and tell us why they deserve to be recognized. Include examples of how they have positively impact the others or our community.

Nominations will be accepted now through spring of 2027 when entries will be reviewed and the next heart of Springboro recipient will be selected.

Let’s celebrate the amazing young people who are shaping the future of our community!

Congratulations to Sergeant Antwaun M. Scott!

The Springboro Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Officer Antwaun M. Scott to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Scott brings 17 years of public safety experience to his new role, including 15 years of dedicated service to the Springboro community. Throughout his career, he has served in numerous specialized assignments, including Detective (both General Detective and with the Warren County Drug Task Force), SWAT Operator, Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Fi****ms Instructor, Field Training Officer, Crisis Intervention Team member, Honor Guard member, and many others.

His commitment to professional excellence has helped shape our department in meaningful ways. Among his many accomplishments, Sergeant Scott created and implemented a training program that improved officers' training and accuracy with their duty weapons, became Springboro's first Drug Recognition Expert, and led a major drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of more than $151,000 in drug proceeds. He has also been recognized with a Life Saving Award from Premier Health and the Team Valor Award from the Ohio Tactical Officers Association.

When asked what has been most rewarding about his career, Sergeant Scott pointed to mentoring and training newer officers, helping them navigate difficult situations while modeling sound decision-making under pressure. As he steps into his new leadership role, he hopes to continue building a culture of excellence by elevating training opportunities and supporting the growth of those around him.

A Dayton native and one of nine siblings, Sergeant Scott credits his older brother, currently serving as Deputy Chief of the Middletown Police Department, and longtime mentor Willie Templeton for helping shape his law enforcement journey. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and “learning” the game of golf.

Sergeant Scott says this promotion represents the trust and confidence placed in him by department leadership and an opportunity to make an even greater positive impact on both the officers he leads and the community he serves.

Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Antwaun Scott on this well-deserved promotion and wishing him continued success as he begins this next chapter of service to Springboro!
