So Nicholas decided to do a neighborhood watch walkthrough and went to ask the neighbor to turn the music down… next thing I know, Charly got him on the playground fighting for his life. 😭

This man was rolling around like a flipped-over Weeble Wobble trying to get back up.

Then Mr. Phelps came over like he was about to help… but remembered he still mad about getting put out the patio apartment last month and ain’t moved back in since.

I can’t make this stuff up. 😂

Every single day, The Mayor comes to give Gracie her relationship-building kiss. 😂

Now mind you… this relationship did not happen overnight because Gracie was never really doing no misters. 🤦‍♀️ She tolerated him at best for a long time, and honestly, every day still feels a little risky.

Because every single day when he leans in for his kiss, I look at Gracie’s face and wonder…

“Is today the day he walks away without a face?” 😭

I’m telling y’all, the look on her face be saying, “Sir… you are very close to making a decision you may regret.”

But somehow… this daily act of commitment has built one of the sweetest little relationships.

And then recently… THE UNTHINKABLE HAPPENED.

The Mayor leaned in for his daily relationship-building kiss, and Gracie… kissed him back.

Y’all.

She licked his nose. 😭😭😭

We both literally gasped and said, “OH MY GOODNESS… SHE KISSED YOU!”

Like excuse me ma’am?? Since when are we out here showing affection to misters?! 😂

All these months of daily kisses and persistence may have finally paid off.

Or maybe…

she was just checking to see what his face tastes like for next time when she bites it off. 🤷‍♀️😭😂

🚨 A meeting was called. 🚨

Now… ever since Boss Bish Zarra crossed over, meetings around here have become far less frequent because let’s be honest… she was the one keeping everybody in line and making sure business was handled.

And honestly? We probably should not have been surprised that a meeting was suddenly called today of all days… because today would have been Zarra’s birthday. 🥹😂

Something about the timing feels very much like her energy saying, “Y’all better get it together.”

The video starts with Gracie… peacefully asleep… except her neck was going one direction, her body was going another, and the entire room collectively entered the “uhhhh…” phase of concern. 😭

Nobody wanted to wake Grandma abruptly because when you’re a senior citizen around here, we approach with gentleness and respect. But also… we had questions.

Was this a new sleeping position?

A secret senior yoga pose?

A superhero recharge stance?

Did she discover a level of comfort the rest of us have yet to spiritually unlock?

So naturally, the committee gathered.

As the camera pans out, you’ll notice the faces of absolute concern, confusion, and quiet judgment as we all attempted to decide who was volunteering to check on Gracie first. Because somehow everybody cared… but nobody wanted to be the one responsible for waking her if she was having the sleep of her life. 😂

Thankfully, Gracie opened her eyes looking at all of us like WE were the weird ones standing around her bed. Everbody acted like they were so busy and wasn’t just staring and whispering 🙄

Meanwhile, somewhere in spirit, Zarra probably called the meeting, rolled her eyes at all of us, and went back to supervising. 😭😂

Meeting adjourned.

Village… look what LOVE already did.

Because of this community, we are already almost halfway to our monthly food goal. We have raised a little over $800 toward the $2,000 we need for this month’s raw food order, and that means we are moving in the right direction.

Thank you to every person who has donated, shared, prayed, supported, and continued believing in these babies. Every act of kindness matters here.

Now we are asking our village to help us finish what we started.

Our monthly food order has to be placed by tomorrow morning/early afternoon so it can make the delivery truck. This order is incredibly important because if we miss this delivery, we would have to wait an entire month or make an almost four-hour drive each way to try to pick up frozen food while still running rescue and caring for all the animals here.

We are choosing to stand in gratitude because we truly believe this village always rises when it matters most.

If everyone who loves these babies gave whatever felt aligned today, we could close this gap together so quickly. No amount is too small because every donation becomes part of caring for the animals who call Tzus and Mews Rescue home.

We are almost halfway there. Let’s keep this momentum going and help us place this order by tomorrow so these babies continue receiving the nutrition they thrive on.

Athena had her spay surgery this morning and she is back home recovering now.

Remember Athena was the tiny baby abandon in the HD cart and left in the parking lot. Aunt Marsha & her coworkers found her and made sure she was safe.
