We are incredibly grateful to share that Houston Focus Academy has been awarded a $10,000 grant from an anonymous donor through the Texas Microschool Accreditation Service (TxMSAS) Grant Program!
These funds will support our continued investment in academic assessment tools, expanded curriculum and course offerings, and technology and resources that allow us to better individualize instruction for our students.
As a TxMSAS-accredited school, we are especially grateful for this investment in our mission and in the neurodiverse students and families we serve.
A huge thank you to our anonymous donor and to TxMSAS for helping us continue to strengthen what we can offer our students. ❤️💙🧡

First week of school in the books! We had regular academics, plus 2 days of P.E., Book Club, and Parent/Student Orientation.
🎉 That's a Wrap on Focus Summer Camp 2026! 🎉
Two incredible weeks have flown by, and what an unforgettable summer it has been!
Thank you to all of our wonderful families for trusting us with your students. It has been a privilege to spend these past two weeks watching them learn, laugh, grow, and build friendships that we hope will last long after camp has ended.
Throughout camp, our students tackled escape room challenges, scavenger hunts, collaborative writing, strategy games, puzzles, Minute Olympics, engineering challenges, team-building activities, and plenty of creative competitions. Every activity was intentionally designed to strengthen executive functioning skills such as planning, problem solving, communication, flexibility, organization, perseverance, and emotional regulation.
Some students found their confidence while quietly piecing together a puzzle. Others discovered it while strategizing during a board game, racing through an obstacle course, or laughing with friends as they battled an orange balloon armed with nothing more than pool noodles or paper plates. Every student had opportunities to challenge themselves, support one another, and celebrate each success along the way.
One of our favorite parts of camp was watching friendships grow. Students encouraged one another, welcomed new campers, solved problems together, and discovered that working as a team is often the greatest victory of all. Those genuine moments are what make Focus Academy such a special community.
As you view the slideshow, we hope you see more than just games and activities. We hope you see confidence growing, friendships forming, resilience developing, and students discovering just how capable they are.
Thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your students' summer. Whether we'll see them back at Focus in just a few days or welcome them in the future, we can't wait to continue watching them grow.

We are proud to share that Focus Academy is accredited by the Texas Microschool Accreditation Service (TxMSAS) as of January 29, 2026.
Focus Academy is also recognized through the International Association of Learner-Driven Schools (IALDS), a TEA-recognized private-school accrediting entity.
This recognition supports the transferability of student credits earned at Focus Academy to Texas public schools and reflects the continued growth and legitimacy of our small, specialized school community.
Focus Academy remains committed to serving quirky, neurodiverse learners through a structured, individualized, and supportive learning environment.
