You never know what you may find at Camille’s. This lovely lady found the most perfect coat (of many colors) that just happened to coordinate with what she was wearing today. I love this look. . .bold, bright, and a bit funky with lots of style. She was so excited over this coat . . .and I’m happy to have a happy new customer!

An advantage to being older, is knowing the age and history of vintage items. These 2 boxes are salesman samples of cedar chest made by Lane Furniture. In the 1950’s and early 60’s, these boxes were given to high school seniors at graduation. My sister received one in 1960. I get so excited when I find them. Yes, I paint and distress them and embellish them with multiple bits and pieces of vintage jewelry. They make wonderful and unique gifts for anyone special to you. . . Or for yourself.

Time to think about your patriotic events coming up with the start of summer. Here are some of my original red, white and blue designs. (Some are no longer available. I’ll mark those in the photo comments.) I am in the process of creating more.

I’m constantly adding vintage items to my shop although I rarely post them. No excuses, I just kinda forget. (I’m old ya’ know!) Look at this precious all solid maple child’s table and 2 chairs. Has an art deco style. I’m guessing sometime between 1930’s-1950’s. The chairs have the original decals. There are 2 places on the table where the original labels have left their faded images. Now this set is a true treasure!

Here’s another post derby post. The first photo is the fabric of a dress that I was to asked to create a hat for. She liked a hat in the shop but the colors weren’t good for her dress. So using the colors in her dress and the style from another of my hat creations, I made this. ( I don’t know why but she ended up changing dresses but did wear the hat!).
I always recommend that you bring your dress in when shopping for a hat or fascinator. The ladies in these pictures did just that. That’s Celia in the yellow dress. To keep the look from looking too monochromatic, the variations of yellow in the hat not only work with her dress but match her shoes!
My former art student, Debra, (from many years ago) brought her pretty blue and white dress in. Notice not only is the blue the perfect shade of blue , but the feathers mimic the pattern in the dress. What an unexpected match! If any of you have pix of yourself wearing derby looks from Camille’s , feel free to post in the comments.

Here’s another post derby look from happy customers. I’ll show you the fascinator and the hat which have a definite derby theme. Look how festive DeAnn looks in her derby fascinator! The sweet customer, Teresa, took first place at her event!
So here’s the fascinator and several views of the hat.

It’s Derby day!! I want to share with y’all some of the custom looks I created for customers for derby events.
This fascinator was for a first time customer. She brought in her beautiful brocade dress and asked that I focus on the flower. I built the flower to match as best I could! Here’s the dress and my interpretation.
