This customer brought us his 2005 F250 after purchasing it and finding out his heads had lifted and head gaskets were blown. Upon further inspection it was found that the cylinder walls had corrosion in them from sitting with rusty water in the cylinders. With the customer wanting this truck to run perfect and last as long as possible, he decided to have Certified Techs install a re manufactured short block. Upgrades included ARP head studs and aftermarket oil and EGR coolers. Our ASE Master Certified technicians were able to remove the cab and get the new engine block fitted before reinstalling all of the components. There are too many pieces of this puzzle to trust it to just anybody. If you are having problems with your diesel truck bring it to Certified Techs.

This customer had his 2008 Dodge 2500hd towed into Certified Techs from another shop after reading our online reviews. He informed us that he was told injectors were the problem and had them all replaced elsewhere to no avail of fixing the problem. What we had discovered is that they had replaced all six of his injectors with sub-par, low quality, injectors. After a thorough inspection from one of our Certified Master Techs, the proper diagnosis had been brought to light. To give our new customer full comfort and satisfaction in our diagnosis, we called him back to the shop to come see and understand the problem for himself. What we had found was, what appeared to be, a T-Shirt stuck within the turbo intake (First picture). This shirt had seized up the turbo, along with causing the fins within the turbo to break off chunks of metal (Second Picture). He caught a lucky break when we were able to show him with confidence that all the metal chunks had been caught within the intercooler, and had not reached the engine. After we had repaired the vehicle per our diagnosis, we had discovered during our test drive that two of the low quality injectors from the previous shop had failed and needed replacement with the quality parts that we provide at Certified Techs.
In the following pictures you can see the uninstalled turbo, side by side comparison or turbos and intercoolers, and finished installation of both parts.

This is a prime example of why we offer Pre-Purchase Inspections for all new and current customers here at Certified Techs. Bring us a vehicle you are interested in buying and we charge one hour of labor to fully inspect your future investment and provide you with a written estimate of any maintenance or repairs that we find the vehicle is in need of, this can be a great bargaining tool if you decide to make an offer on the vehicle. During this inspection we are likely to uncover neglected maintenance or even major problems that a simple test drive will not uncover. One hour of labor is significantly cheaper for all our customers as opposed to purchasing a vehicle that looks good but has hidden flaws. This customer brought us his 2007 Dodge R2500 after he already purchased it. This truck unfortunately had excessive blow by and needed a rebuild or new engine. Through our distributors we were able to quickly acquire him a re-manufactured 5.9 liter Common Rail long block at an affordable price, ensuring him the job would be done correct. He left the truck with us while he went on Christmas vacation and it was quickly and properly installed with no issues by one of our Master Technicians.

This specific project was brought to us by one of our First Responder customers. His ambulance had been overheating, billowing out white smoke, and quickly building excessive pressure within the coolant bottle. With these commonly combined symptoms, our ASE Certified Master Technicians had no doubt at all when it came to giving a quick and accurate diagnosis. The heads on this 6.0 Powerstroke had lifted and lead to complete head gasket failure. Hunter lifted the cab as much as the added ambulance equipment would allow, and removed the heads for further inspection. The heads were tested for excessive warpage and cracks and checked out to be within manufacturer specification. We did however notice a few worn valves. We priced out and brought this to the customers attention, he gave us the go-ahead to rebuild and machine the heads to perfect working order. When the new gaskets and machined heads were reinstalled, we used ARP Headstuds to prevent the heads from lifting again in the future, and a Bulletproof Oil Cooler the keep the 6.0 running strong.
Thank you again to all of our First Responder and Military personnel for all that you do year round. For this, Certified Techs has and will always provide 10% labor discounts to all work you need on your personal and work vehicles 365 days a year.
