Sometimes we see unconventional methods that actually work. Then we find a sock attached to the end of a dryer duct terminating inside the attic.

This is completely ridiculous. The sock can restrict airflow and collect lint, while the dryer pumps heat and moisture directly into the attic. Dryer exhaust should terminate outside the home—not into someone’s missing laundry.

You’re never gonna believe this…

🚨Someone Could Remove This Door From the Outside 😱

The number one thing we’re concerned about during a home inspection is the safety of the people inside.

Sometimes that means finding gas leaks or unsafe electrical conditions. Other times, it’s as simple as making sure the home is secure.

This outward-swinging exterior door had exposed, removable hinge pins. Outward-swinging doors are acceptable, but they should have security hinges—such as non-removable-pin hinges—to prevent someone from tampering with the door from outside.

Sometimes home safety comes down to something as simple as using the right hinge.
