Remember: Your tax preparer is not your bookkeeper. 👀
Your tax preparer looks at the numbers you give them and makes sure your tax return is prepared correctly.
Your bookkeeper makes sure those numbers are accurate, organized, reconciled, and make sense BEFORE they ever reach your tax preparer.
Think of it this way:
📚 Bookkeeper: Keeps your financial records clean and current.
🧾 Tax Preparer: Uses those records to prepare your tax return.
💡 You: Get better information to make better business decisions.
And yes… your tax preparer may catch bookkeeping mistakes during tax season. But that doesn’t mean they should be the ones doing your bookkeeping. 😉
Good bookkeeping isn’t just about getting your taxes done.
It’s about knowing what’s happening in your business all year long.
Need someone to make sure your books are ready—not just for tax season, but for your business? Let’s talk!

Bookkeeping mistakes have a price tag.
Missed deductions.
Unplanned tax bills.
Not knowing which jobs or clients are actually profitable.
Personal and business expenses tangled together.
Overlooking expenses that should have been tracked.
None of these are just bookkeeping problems.
They can quietly drain your profits, limit your decisions, and cost you money you could have kept.
Your books aren't just records of what happened. They're a tool for protecting what you've earned.
If you're not confident your books are telling the whole story, let's fix that.
📲 Contact The Williams Bookkeeping Group and let’s make sure your numbers are working for you—not against you.
Things I hear small business owners say all the time… 👀
💬 “Money is coming in, so I’m good.”
💬 “I’m pretty sure my business is doing well.”
💬 “I haven’t looked at my numbers in a while.”
Here’s the thing: money coming in doesn’t necessarily mean you’re profitable. And “pretty sure” isn’t a financial strategy. 😉
Your books should tell you:
✔️ What you’re actually making
✔️ Where your money is going
✔️ Whether your business is profitable
✔️ What needs your attention before it becomes a problem
You don’t have to love your numbers. You just need to know what they’re telling you.
If it’s been a while since you’ve looked at your books—or you’re not sure what your numbers are really saying—let’s fix that.
📲 Contact The Williams Bookkeeping Group. Let’s get your books caught up, cleaned up, and working for you.
Because “I think I’m doing okay” is a lot less reassuring than knowing you are. 😉

📅 SEPTEMBER 15TH IS HERE… AND WE’RE OFFICIALLY IN THE HOME STRETCH OF 2026!
We’re about two weeks away from the end of the third quarter, which means now is a great time to stop and look at where your business stands. 👀📊
And today is an important tax deadline for many business owners:
💰 Third-quarter 2026 estimated tax payments are due September 15.
That includes individuals who make estimated tax payments, and corporations making estimated payments.
So… how are YOUR numbers looking?
✅ Are your books caught up?
✅ Have your bank and credit card accounts been reconciled?
✅ Do you know how much you've made so far this year?
✅ Do you know how much you've spent?
✅ Do you know what your actual profit is?
✅ Are you setting enough aside for taxes?
You still have time to make adjustments before the year is over—but you need to know where you stand first.
That’s where good bookkeeping matters.
Your books shouldn't just tell you what happened. They should help you understand where your business is going.
Don't wait until December to find out your numbers aren't where you thought they were. 😉

Jumped on the ChatGPT prompt trend "Describe me like you're trying to warn someone before they meet me". Pretty accurate! 😄
Okay, fair warning:
You’re about to meet a woman who will notice the discrepancy.
She will ask why the bank balance doesn’t tie out, why the invoice says paid but the payment is sitting in Undeposited Funds, and who, exactly, thought categorizing a mystery Venmo transaction as “office supplies” was a good idea.
She is exceptionally pleasant until someone tells her, “That’s just how we’ve always done it.”
She will research the policy. She will read the fine print. She will check the math. She will probably have the IRS/TWC/QuickBooks documentation pulled up before you finish explaining why you think you’re right.
She has approximately zero tolerance for sloppy bookkeeping, but an unusually high tolerance for explaining it to someone until it finally makes sense.
She will also volunteer for something, join a committee, organize the committee, realize nobody has a plan, and then quietly make a plan.
She is a “let’s fix it properly” person, not a “let’s make it look okay for now” person.
Also, don’t send her a spreadsheet with inconsistent dates or formatting.
She will notice. 😏
And one last warning: she genuinely wants people to succeed. So if she’s invested in you, she’s going to care, ask questions, push back, and make sure you understand what you’re doing.
Basically:
Smart. Organized. Persistent. Slightly terrifying when the numbers don't tie. 🤣
But very much in your corner once you're her person. ❤

SEPTEMBER 11 — PATRIOT DAY
Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who stepped forward when our country needed them most.
This summer, our family had the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. Walking among the memorials, monuments, and places that tell the story of our nation was a powerful reminder of what we’ve been through—and of the freedoms we are fortunate to have.
There is something incredibly humbling about standing in places that represent the strength, sacrifice, and resilience of our country.
Today we remember.
We honor.
We reflect.
And we are proud to be Americans. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
Never forget.

💇♀️ SALON OWNERS — ARE YOU USING VAGARO? 💇♂️
If your salon, spa, studio, or other service-based business uses Vagaro to book appointments, process payments, track sales, commissions, or manage your business…
I know that system! 🙌
And I can help you make sure the information coming out of Vagaro is being recorded correctly in QuickBooks Online.
Because here's where things can get messy:
💳 Customer payments
💰 Sales
💸 Processing fees
🎁 Tips
👩💼 Employee commissions
🤝 Contractor payments
↩️ Refunds
🏦 Deposits hitting the bank
Vagaro may be doing a great job running your day-to-day business—but your accounting still needs to tell the whole story.
I've worked with Vagaro and understand how the reports connect to the bookkeeping side of things, which means I can help you get from “Vagaro says this…” to “My QuickBooks numbers actually make sense.” 📊
You shouldn't have to be an expert in both your salon software AND your bookkeeping.
That's what I'm here for. ❤️
📩 If you use Vagaro and your QuickBooks feels confusing, send me a message! The Williams Bookkeeping Group can help.

🔗 IS YOUR BUSINESS USING SOFTWARE THAT COULD BE CONNECTED TO QUICKBOOKS ONLINE?
I helped a client with this today, and it was a great reminder that QuickBooks doesn't have to be a stand-alone system.
Your business may already be using other software for things like:
💳 Payments
📅 Scheduling
🧾 Invoicing
👥 Payroll
📦 Inventory
🛒 E-commerce
⏱️ Time tracking
📱 Customer management
Many of these systems can integrate with QuickBooks Online so information can flow between the platforms instead of you having to enter everything manually.
But here's the catch…
Just because an app connects to QuickBooks doesn't mean it's automatically set up correctly. 👀
You still need to make sure the integration is sending the RIGHT information to the RIGHT accounts.
Otherwise, you can end up with duplicate income, missing expenses, incorrect fees, messy clearing accounts, or financial statements that don't tell the real story.
That's where having a bookkeeper who understands both your business AND QuickBooks can make a huge difference.
Today, I helped a client work through one of those integrations—and that's exactly the kind of behind-the-scenes work I love. 💻📊
The goal isn't just to connect your apps. It's to make sure they work together correctly.
