We preach Christ as preeminent. We sing God honoring hymns. We preach from the word of God (KJB). Christ is preached as preeminent. The King James Bible).

We preach from the word of God (a.k.a. We strive to glorify Christ in all we do. You can experience Christ-like love. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
1 John 4:10-11

The following is an excerpt from this morning’s devotion:

…I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down... (Neh. 6:3)

“One of Satan’s favorite employees is the “switchman.” He likes nothing better than to sidetrack one of God’s express trains, sent on some blessed mission and filled with the fire of a holy purpose.

Something will come up in the pathway of an earnest soul, to attract its attention, and occupy its strength and thought. Sometimes it is a little irritation and provocation. Sometimes it is some petty grievance we stop to pursue or adjust.

Very often, and before we are aware of it, we are absorbed in a lot of distracting cares and interests that quite turn us aside from the great purpose of our life.

We may not do much harm, but we have missed our connection. We have gotten off the main line.

Let these things alone. Let distractions come and go, but press forward steadily and irresistibly with your God-given task.”

Find what God wants you to do, do it with thy might, and don’t turn from it. Deuteronomy 5:32; Ecclesiastes 9:10.

This evening’s devotion was from the following text in 1 Cor. 13 regarding charity,

“Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.”

The following is an excerpt from the devotion:

What a powerful and promising force this charity, or love, is! It always prevails. It endures whatever comes. It remains hopeful and optimistic. It is positive, believing the best. It is able to bear whatever comes its way.

I was challenged by this. Love is often associated with feelings or emotions. When we think of charity, we think more of action. Charity rises above feelings. It’s selfless. I need this, we need this. It’s Christ on the cross dying for our sins.

Oh that we would bear, believe, hope, and endure all things. Let’s pray this for each other. Charity never faileth.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We all have so much to be thankful for. The Psalmist said in Ps. 68:19,

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”

Let’s thank God for who he is and what he’s done. And above all, let’s thank him for the gift of his Son. 2 Cor. 9:15.
