Sovereign Metal Fabrication is hiring immediately for several shop positions.

We are a small, growing metal fabrication company looking for dependable, hands-on team members who are willing to work across all areas of fabrication.

Fabrication Assistant

Typical pay range: $12–$16/hr

Responsibilities may include:
• Measuring and marking material
• Cutting and grinding
• Drilling
• Material prep
• Assisting with fit-up
• Loading and unloading material
• Material handling
• Shop organization and cleanup
• Assisting fabricators with general shop work

Experience is preferred, but we are open to candidates who have good mechanical ability, a strong work ethic, and are willing to learn.

Welder / Fabrication Assistant

Typical pay range: $15–$19/hr

This is not a welding-only position.

Candidates must be able and willing to perform the same general fabrication duties as a Fabrication Assistant in addition to welding.
Our regular workload primarily involves MIG and Stick welding.
TIG experience is highly preferred right now due to a current project, but TIG is not the sole focus of this position or our normal workload.
Candidates should be comfortable with:
• MIG and/or Stick welding
• Measuring
• Cutting
• Grinding
• Drilling
• Fit-up
• Material preparation
• General shop fabrication work

Fabricator

Starting at $18/hr

Fabricators should have a stronger overall understanding of the fabrication process and be able to perform work with less supervision.
Responsibilities may include:
• Reading fabrication drawings
• Measuring and laying out material
• Cutting and preparing material
• Fit-up
• Welding
• Fabricating assemblies
• Troubleshooting fitment and fabrication issues
• General shop responsibilities as needed

Pay

Pay depends on experience, overall fabrication ability, and welding quality demonstrated during the practical test.

For reference, our current pay ranges are:

Fabrication Assistant: $12–$16/hr
Welder / Fabrication Assistant: $15–$19/hr
Fabricator: Starting at $18/hr

These ranges are provided as a general guide. Final starting pay will depend on demonstrated skill level, including weld quality and the candidate's ability to perform the responsibilities of the position.
Candidates may be asked to complete a practical fabrication and/or weld test before an offer is made.

We are looking for people who are reliable, willing to work, willing to learn, and willing to contribute wherever needed in the shop.
