Another unexpected blow...Kat passed unexpectedly and the world is dimmer. She was such a force and my first tech director at Monte Vista--she will be missed.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our dear friend, Rory Boukas. Rory had a kind heart, a big laugh, and was an excellent tech and friend to Monarch Theatre. Rory loved changing his hair color and the 23 flavors of Dr. Pepper--I never fail to think of him when I see Dr. Pepper and after he graduated, I tried to have Dr. Pepper in the concessions just for him. The Brohem has lost a good man and Rory was right--there will never be another like him. Monarch Theatre extends condolences to his family.

And a HUGE congrats to the class of 2023 and the Theatre Peeps! Love you all and I know you will make me proud. ❤️

Ok, the Thespian Rolls are up! They changed style on me three times and the last one is incomplete because we have another one that we began having students sign and that is waiting for tonight’s inductions. I apologize if I got your actual induction year wrong—I was trying to go through a stack of conflicting data and then through old programs to see when someone got an asterisk after their names and it was an imprecise method. 😉

Hey Alumni! Do you see your Senior Spot here? If we could take it off we tried to save it, and it is currently in Rm 13 at MVHS. If you would like it, please come before the school year ends on June 8th. Ms. B will be hosting a S’more Party on June 5th from 3-6:30 in Rm 13 and she would love to see you and give you a hug too!

It’s time to honor our Seniors! Julian spent most of his time on the tech side of the shows, but the few times we convinced him to come on stage he shone! He has continued in the tech vein and has been working in the real world with the skills he first learned at Monarch Theatre! 😊

It’s time to honor our seniors! Finn was a natural comedian on stage and we wish we could have kept Finn for more shows, but since he was a cross country and track superstar we forgive him. 😊

The Green Room walls in the 1000 building was where the seniors had been leaving their “mark” in our shared space since 1996 when I began. Those were lost when the school renovated the building and moved Theatre to the Event Center. It was devastating. I took pictures of all the senior spots and vowed to never lose something that meaningful again, so Monarch Theatre created a movable Senior Tree to hang “leaves” from the seniors. Currently my TAs are cutting up the photos and putting them on tags so the tree is a shared history—our shared history. ❤️

It’s time to honor our Seniors! We were delighted that Sierra was our Sally for the musical and joined our family! We know she will be amazing in her future!
