When you’re navigating a hospital stay, your brain is making a hundred terrifying decisions an hour. What did the doctor just mean by that? Should we ask for a different nurse? Who is watching the kids back home tonight?
How you are going to manage to make Shabbos shouldn’t be one of those decisions. We drop this box at the door so you have one less thing to carry, and one more reason to feel a little bit of peace. 💙💛

Late nights, heavy boxes, and fully loaded vans. 💙
This is what the actual frontline of chesed looks like. Our drivers are out at all hours making sure our hospital rooms are completely restocked and ready for whoever needs them next.

Before the vans are loaded. Before the hospital doors open. Before the Shabbos boxes are delivered. This is where it all begins. 💙💛

“The Chesed 24/7 Kosher Room was truly a lifeline.”
We recently received a beautiful message from a patient at Valley Hospital, and it perfectly captures exactly why we do what we do.
When you’re hospitalized, it’s not just the medical procedures that drain you. It’s the lack of normalcy. It’s worrying about where your family will get their next kosher meal, or realizing your phone is at 2% and you don’t have a charger.
This patient shared how our fully stocked pantry (pictured here!), essential supplies, and daily check ins from Rabbi Motty Teitelbaum gave them the one thing they needed most: the ability to focus completely on their recovery without added stress.

It starts in a school in Paramus & ends on a tray table next to a hospital bed.
Throwing it back to 2020, when the incredible students at stepped up to help us package fresh meals for hospital deliveries. Watching the next generation roll up their sleeves and take ownership of this mitzvah is the ultimate reminder of what our community is built on. You don’t have to be an adult to carry Klal Yisroel on your shoulders. 💙

For a family living in a hospital room, Shabbos ending doesn’t mean going home… it means another week of bedside meals, long nights, and needs that don’t wait. So the moment it’s over, our volunteers are getting ready to hit the road, restocking hospital floors with hot food and everything a family needs to get through.

What is actually inside a Chesed 24/7 Shabbos Box?
10% Challah and grape juice.
20% Electric tea lights.

Doctors treat the illness. We treat the person.
Medicine and machines do the heavy lifting of healing, but a warm smile, a firm handshake, and a familiar face can completely change the atmosphere of a cold hospital room.

Real schnitzel. Hot mashed potatoes. Carrots that weren’t scooped from a can.
Our kitchen volunteers spent hours breading, frying, and portioning today so that families on the wards could open a container and finally smell an actual heimishe kitchen.
