Have you heard of the U.S. Smart Traveler Enrollment Program or "STEP"? I strongly encourage anyone booking travel abroad to enroll in STEP prior to their departure -- It's simple & only takes 10-20 minutes to complete.

☀️ What is it?

The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service to allow U.S. citizens and nationals to enroll their trip abroad so the Department of State can accurately and quickly contact them in case of emergency.

🗺️ Why should I enroll?

- To stay aware of local threats while traveling and receive alerts from the nearest U.S embassy to your location or consulate if any security concerns develop while on vacation.

-To get updates about health, weather, safety, and security for your destination.

-To allow you to plan ahead using information from the local U.S. embassy.

-To help the embassy or consulate contact you if there's an emergency like a natural disaster, civil unrest, or a family emergency.
