Muli bwanji? (How are you?) God calls us to remember those who feel trapped or forgotten, just as Jesus said in Matthew 25:36, "I was in prison and you came to visit me." Today, listen to the story of Nored and Esnat, two people held captive not by walls, but by their own mindset. Hear how they escaped and recognized their God-given identity and worth. Their journey reminds us that true freedom begins when we see ourselves, and others, through God's eyes.

Day 5 | World Vision USA 06/12/2026

Good morning! Jesus said in Matthew 25:36, "I was sick and you looked after me." Today's devotional reveals the tender story of 7-year-old Yafet and his mother, whose love and care reveal how healing and hope flourish through compassion. May their journey be a reminder of the powerful ways we're called to care for those who are hurting.

In today's challenge, take time to connect with someone facing a health challenge. If you're unable to reach out today, make an intentional plan to connect with them soon. Your care and presence can bring comfort and hope.

Day 4 | World Vision USA 06/11/2026

Hello! As you get dressed today, take a moment to meditate on Jesus' words in Matthew 25:36: "I needed clothes and you clothed me." You'll meet Wetu in today's devotional. She's a courageous mother of five, whose strength and determination beautifully reflect God's love. Her story invites you to see how the acts of a caring mother's can reveal the compassion of Christ. May her story inspire you.

For today's challenge, donate something special to a local charity or nonprofit. Deepen this meaningful experience by giving away items that hold value to you. This is an opportunity to offer more than just unwanted clothing, but make a sacrifice from a place of love.

Mingalaba! (Good morning!) Jesus said in Matthew 25:35, "I was a stranger and you invited me in." Today, dwell on the transformative power of hospitality. Something special happens when strangers are welcomed as family. Through the eyes of Mohammed (name changed), witness the beauty of belonging, even in unexpected places. Let your heart be open. You won't want to miss it.

For today's challenge, try to sleep on the floor tonight (as you're able). May this humble act open your heart to a deeper understanding of the challenges so many face, both near and far.

Day 2 | World Vision USA 06/09/2026

We’re so happy to have over 150 people doing the Chosen Devotional this week! Because we have heard that some people haven’t received messages, we will post them as we receive them here on our Facebook.

DAY 1: Today, you're invited to step into a meaningful devotional moment. It's an opportunity to encounter Jesus in a fresh and deeply personal way. As you listen to the powerful story of Flomena and her son Yankho, may your heart be stirred by the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35: "For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat." Let our hearts be moved by the things that move God's heart. Today's challenge is a simple act of sacrifice. If you can, skip lunch today. If you can't skip lunch, maybe skip your snack. As you embrace this challenge, may your heart grow toward those who often go without. https://links.worldvision.org/j5m4E

DAY 2: Mwauka bwanji! (Good morning!) Jesus said in Matthew 25:35, "I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink." Today, discover what it means to see Jesus in those who are thirsty. As you hear the inspiring story of twin sisters, Loveness and Yankho from Malawi, may your heart be opened to their daily struggles and to the ways we're called to respond. For today's challenge, will you carry an uncomfortable weight of water with you throughout the day? For example, carry a gallon of water in a backpack as you try to complete the day's tasks. We hope this challenge serves as a way to walk in the shoes of those who face this reality daily. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWPYx4Jaxr8
