In July, we spent a week in Historic Cocoa Village for the Florida Main Street Preservation on Main Street 2026 conference, exploring, meeting new friends, and enjoying the little pockets of their town that make it so special. We visited so many great places, but The Village Art Gallery was one of the brightest highlights of our visit.

On Tuesday afternoon, we went adventuring and just outside of the welcome reception for the conference, I met two of the artists that show in the gallery on the street. They gave me their cards and invited us to visit the gallery around the corner. This was my first of four visits that week.

When I first walked in, I struck up a conversation with Bruce - a fellow artist, my new friend. Bruce and I talked about his gallery and the artists who show and sell their work there. He shared stories from over the years about his previous galleries and trips to festivals. We laughed as we talked about life as artists and what it means in different seasons. He pointed out spaces in the gallery and shared stories about some of his pieces on display.

Over the next few days I found myself going back multiple times, and making new friends with each visit. I met an abstract artist who taught graphic design in Cali and a painter who loves big, bold bespoke jewelry as much as I do.

We ended up buying a few small prints for souvenirs and gifts, an illustrated book about Ginger & Jasmine (scroll to see this dynamic duo AKA security at the shop), and a pair of beautiful earrings for myself from one of his talented jewelers.

Although I'll treasure our new pieces, my favorite part of this gallery is without a doubt the people behind it. The best part of this space is easily Bruce and his talented and diverse group of artists, who come together for their shared passion that is art.

Support local art. Talk about your passions. Make new friends. Do good work. And remember that every day can be an adventure if you surround yourself with the right people.

We're beyond excited to officially announce that the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation is the 2026 beneficiary of Art & Ales! 🎨🍻🌿

Join us on November 7 at Tidal Brewing Company for our second annual immersive live art event where local artists will create original paintings in just six hours, inspired by the beauty, wildlife, and landscapes of the Florida Wildlife Corridor.

This partnership is especially meaningful because the Foundation doesn't just protect Florida's wild places–they also champion the arts. Through initiatives like Wild Space Gallery and their statewide mural program, they use visual arts to inspire stewardship for Florida's unique landscapes, and wildlife and communities that make up the Corridor.

Our connection with the Foundation began in 2023 when we partnered to help bring Gypsea Arts' iconic Brooksville City Hall mural to life. Since then, we've had the privilege of collaborating through Tide for a Cause at Tidal Brewing Co. and welcoming the Foundation to our annual EcoFest events. Each partnership has strengthened our shared commitment to art, conservation, and community, making them the perfect beneficiary for this year's Art & Ales.

❤️ Sponsorship opportunities are now available!
