Well, Eagles… here we go.

This morning, the Class of 2027 gathered together at Springstead to watch the sunrise and officially begin their final year as SHS students. ❤️🤍💙

There’s something pretty special about Senior Sunrise. Four years ago, these Eagles walked onto our campus as freshmen, and now they’re watching the sun come up on a year filled with last first days, last homecomings, last games, last performances, last lunches with friends… and eventually, one very big walk across a graduation stage.

But we’re not getting ahead of ourselves just yet. 😉

Seniors, soak it all in. Take the pictures. Laugh with your friends. Show up for each other. Make some memories. And make this year one you’ll be proud to look back on.

Today we watched the sun rise on your senior year.

Next stop: Class of 2027 graduation. 🎓

Well… if you’ve been trying to keep up with our administrative lineup this summer, you’re not alone. 😅

In what might be one of the shortest tenures in Springstead history, Mrs. Celisse DiPaolo was called to serve as the new Principal of Spring Hill Elementary after just two weeks with us. While we’re certainly going to miss her, opportunities like this don’t come around often, and we know she’s going to do incredible things leading her own school.

From all of us at The Nest, congratulations, Mrs. DiPaolo, and best of luck in your new role! Once an Eagle, always part of the Eagle family. ❤️🤍💙

Please join me in giving a huge Springstead welcome to Mrs. Jodi Slone, our new Assistant Principal! Mrs. Slone joins us after serving as the Assistant Director of Safe Schools and brings more than 10 years of experience in our district. Many of you may also know her from her previous Assistant Principal roles at Central High School and Weeki Wachee High School.

Her experience, leadership, and commitment to students make her a tremendous addition to our team, and I can’t wait for our students, staff, and families to get to know her.

Today we’re celebrating something truly special.

Our students and teachers continue to prove that hard work, high expectations, and a commitment to excellence pay off. The results from the 2026 AP and IB exams are nothing short of outstanding!

📚 Advanced Placement
⭐ 67% overall pass rate
🎓 5 AP Capstone Diplomas earned
💪 More than 35% of all AP test takers in Hernando County are Springstead Eagles
🏆 Our students earned 45% of the district’s college credit-qualifying AP exam scores
🎉 38% of our graduating seniors passed at least one AP exam during their time at Springstead

🌍 International Baccalaureate
⭐ 79% exam pass rate
🎓 80% of our graduating IB seniors earned the prestigious IB Diploma
💙 More than half (52%) earned Florida Bright Futures through the IB Diploma itself rather than SAT or ACT scores.

These numbers represent late nights studying, teachers who refuse to let students settle for less, families who support every step of the journey, and students who chose to challenge themselves.

To our AP and IB teachers- thank you for inspiring excellence every single day.
