The LEOSA Qualification scheduled for Tuesday December 22 has also been cancelled.

Another busy day for Red Shirt Training. Today we qualified 5 retired law enforcement officers to carry under the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act, or LEOSA. Three were retired military who drove across the state (literally) to qualify with us today, one was retired NYPD, and the last one retired from Homland Security in a high ranking position! I am always amazed to meet the retired officers that come to qualify with me and hear their stories!

We also completed our weekend Armed Security Officer training class today with the live fire range portion. We were able to sign off on three of the four students who attended that training. The forth one will be scheduled in the near future. Each student fired 150 round of ammunition and had to shoot a minimum of 168 point out of a potential
240 points. All three exceed the minimum standard and now qualify to work as Armed Security Officers.

Due to the approaching storm, the LEOSA (HR218) Qualifications have been canceled for tomorrow and rescheduled for Tuesday November 17 at 9:30 am.

Update – Red Shirt Training is currently remodeling and updating our classroom and office area. We have tried to remodel in between scheduled classes and have found that it takes more time to do it this way. Because of this we will not be scheduling any of our 42-Hour Class D Security Officer Training, 28-Hour Class G Statewide Fi****ms Training, 8-Hour Intermediate Weapons for Security Officers, and 4-Hour Florida Concealed Weapons Training beyond what is currently on the schedule. We will resume our normal schedule starting January 1, 2021.

We will be continuing with limited LEOSA (HR 218) qualifications and 4-Hour Class G Annual Renewal Training, however will not be able to utilize the Smokeless Range system until the remodeling is completed. Just finished up my second concealed weapons class for today. Tomorrow I take them to the range to demonstrate proficiency and presentation of certificates. Another busy day here at Red Shirt Training!

Today we had our first Intermediate Weapons for Security Officers class, covering Use of Force, Handcuffing, Impact Weapons and Chemical Agent training. Our first three students seemed to have enjoyed the class. Thanks for a great class guys!

If you’re interested in becoming a Security Officer, we have our 42-Hour Florida Class D Security Officer training starting on Saturday October 3 at 8 am. This is a WEEKEND ONLY class, on Saturday October 3, Sunday October 4, Saturday October 10, and Sunday October 11 from 8 am to 7 pm each day. The class $150.00 and you can register on our events page, at www.redshirttraining.com/events.

If you do take this class, and wish to continue your training we are offering our 28-Hour Florida Class G - Statewide Fi****ms License course starting Friday night October 16 from 6 pm to 10 pm, Saturday October 17 from 8 am to 7 pm, and Sunday October 18 from 8am to 7 pm. If you take the unarmed training first we will provide you with information on how to save $50.00 for the armed training. Information will be provide during class.

Busy day for Red Shirt Training today. This morning we qualified 8 retired law enforcement officers under the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (HR 218) they all shot a 38 or higher out of 40. We also had another retired officer drive up from Cape Coral to qualify today. He was the second in two months to make that drive. I also got to see some old friends, one of them have been qualifying with me for 5 years now! Thanks to all who attended!
