We are a family loving our horses and loving what we do. Our horses are on Dynamite Specialty Produ
First decent rain coming our way. Make sure your ponies are getting enough salt to keep the fluids moving. It’s been windy here and can feel the pressure changing.

This mare has def taught me how to listen and I’m so grateful for it. I’ve always known issues normally always mean pain but Hitter has truly shown me how to listen deeper and it has greatly made us closer for it. There are so many people I see and how their horses act that I feel so sorry for because they just don’t know and the horse sufferers so much because of it and you can’t tell them different. 99.999999% of the time it is pain or rider issue NOT the horse.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠…
I’ve never seen a more misunderstood animal more than 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞…
I’ve been trying to tell you that I am in pain, but you don’t seem to listen.
I show you that I’m in pain by not being willing to work but you just call me 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐛𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 or 𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐲. Instead of helping me, you just 𝐤𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫.
I show you that I’m in pain by rearing when you try to ride me, but you enjoy showing people you can sit to a rear. Instead of getting off and listening, you just say “𝐇𝐞’𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬, 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭!”
I show you that I’m in pain by throwing my head in the air, but you just say it’s one of 𝐦𝐲 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬. Instead of helping me, you just buy 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 so that I can no longer 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐫.
I show you that I’m in pain by bolting, but you just get scared and decide I’m not the one for you. You sell me and I still remain as 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.
It’s our responsibility as animal owners to do right by them, horses can’t speak, they communicate through their actions. So we need to listen!
9/10 times “negative behaviour” is caused my pain, the rest is learnt behaviour. Either way I always check for pain first.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, deserves the world. The amount of tolerance, loyalty, patience and trust the hurting horse has, is something I can only dream of having.

Haven’t posted in a bit. But we are back at it and having a blast. Did pac west in Feb and came home with some sweet pay checks both Ashton and I. Ashton’s mare has been getting faster every race. In Feb we also lost our beautiful appy destiny that we have had for 19 yrs. She was the rock of the horse fam for sure. Been hitting the trails and some sorting practice. Every weekend it’s something different and a blessing.

So between my allergies and not being able to find decent rolled hay and the horses are grain free we have decided to start them on blocks. Big thanks to the hubby for building them the platform for the hay to sit on. Still gotta get the roof on, but blessed and grateful. Put a new pasture up with hot wire for them. They are eating the grass more than the alfalfa. 😆.
