🔬 What difference does magnification make during a root canal?

A dental operating microscope allows an endodontist to progressively examine the inside of a tooth at different levels of detail:

🔹 3× — The big picture
Provides a complete view of the tooth for orientation and access.

🔹 8× — Chamber detail
Brings the pulp chamber floor and primary canal openings into clearer focus.

🔹 16× — Fine anatomy
Helps reveal hidden canals, developmental grooves and small obstructions.

🔹 25× — Micro detail
Provides an extremely close view when managing calcifications, fine cracks and other intricate anatomy.

Much like zooming from an entire city block down to the grain of the metal surrounding a keyhole, each increase in magnification reveals details that are difficult—or sometimes impossible—to appreciate with the naked eye.

🪥 Do You Really Need a $500 Dyson Toothbrush?

Dyson’s new CameraJet toothbrush has a built-in camera, AI-guided brushing, and a water jet designed to clean between your teeth. Impressive? Absolutely. Necessary for good oral health? No.

The fundamentals still matter most:

✅ Brush twice daily for two minutes
✅ Use fluoride toothpaste
✅ Clean between your teeth every day
✅ Maintain regular dental visits
✅ Limit frequent sugary snacks and drinks

A high-tech toothbrush may improve your technique and motivate you to be more consistent—and that can make it worthwhile for some people. But an affordable electric toothbrush, or even a manual toothbrush used properly, can keep your teeth healthy.

Bottom line: You don’t need a “Dyson” toothbrush. You need good technique and consistent habits. The best toothbrush is the one you’ll use correctly every day.
