Nic's Pool Construction

Here is a huge custom pool we just finished in Tampa. This pool is 55’ long with an infinity spa , sunken fire pit and a unique decking layout.

I would say we’re about 30 days out from finishing this job right here. We got another grotto going in on the giant pool with a swim up bar and a few other features. Here’s a little progress video.

Don’t mean to brag but 38 days for this 50 plus foot pool is wild. Building this while working on several others simultaneously is next level. After the pool house is complete , and the granite table set. I plan having a nice video made to show it off a bit. The home and the pool house was/is being built by . Love working side by side with them.

Out here with of Maloney‘s decorative getting the grotto going on this giant pool in Springhill. What we have here is 2 pound EPS high density Styrofoam as our base. This foam is so strong we have literally built swimming pools on top of giant blocks of it on elevated second story swimming pools. The foam will never deteriorate or compress from the weight of whatever is being built on top of it. After Tim gets a general shape of the grotto with the cut foam he will add rebar and multiple layers of concrete before his final layer which he will carve. This is the most practical and reasonable way to build a grotto without adding tens of thousands of pounds right on the edge of the swimming pool. A lot of people see famous Pool builders like Lucas Lagoon’s using actual real rocks which is definitely cool but, It’s not really practical on your standard budget oriented swimming pool project. One reason is the weight of those rocks sitting on the edge of the swimming pool can cause it to crack. You would have to beef up the pool shell and the earth behind it to support the weight, not to mention the cost of buying those rocks and installing them is quite a bit which could easily triple the price of the install. What Tim does is doing here is pretty common but it takes a very skilled individual like Tim to be able to pull it off. Tim can make this carving look pretty much lifelike. Not everybody can do what Tim does so I’m proud to have him a part of the team. Tim has worked on many projects for us in the past and after this one is complete, we have another big grotto that we’re going to be doing here in Brooksville that is completely different from this one, so stay tuned.

This spool is 100% done and looks great.

Cool project coming early next year. We have a second story infinity edge pool on the gulf we are building on a pretty nice home in gulf harbors. I’ll be posting this project lot during the build. The entire ocean side wall of the pool will be a knife edge style infinity. Palmwood Construction is building the house , they are a great company for anyone looking to build a new home.

Really really pleased with how this one came out. I’m gonna say at this point we probably got another 6 to 8 weeks to finish this project up it’s pretty big and has a lot of special features. We have a lot of backfilling to do before we move forward with Plumbing and Tile work. Also will be making us a custom carved grotto on the back side with is going to be sweet. We might have Tim do a couple other things on the lower level by the bar top to make this project stand out a little bit more. Definitely gonna keep you all filled in with the progress over the next two months. Also wanna send a huge thanks to Joe at Suncoast concrete for giving us amazing service on a Saturday to get this thing knocked out in one day.

Here is a nice little Spool that we are about to wrap up. These are becoming more and more common nowadays especially neighborhoods where the houses are very close and there’s not much backyard left. We put a heater on this one so they’ll be able to heat it up to whatever they like and honestly for most people this is all they need.

Pool spa combo in Southen Hills. 30 more days and she will be done. Nice glass tile on this one.

Nice little pool spa combo out here in Dade city that we just wrapped up. They had existing pavers which were discontinued so we bought the closest matching color we could. This is a sweet little project.
