Friendly reminder as to why you do not rip your vacuum cord out of a receptacle. This vacuum cord had been pulled out from the side several times and bent back for this to happen. Don’t be lazy, grab the plug and safely remove it.

This homeowner did exactly what they should do in this situation. They lost power, smelled burning and verified the breaker was in the off position. Next step was to call their local electrician. Don’t take a risk on your home or the people inside it.
