Percussion Rock Alpaca Farm
Fine Alpaca, Fleece, Fiber, and Yarn
12/17/2023
We had a special treat this past Friday - a shoutout on WUWM, the Wisconsin Public radio station from Milwaukee. They were doing an interview with Nina’s Department and Variety Store in Spring Green for a piece on Christmas in small Wisconsin towns. Nina’s is a magical place, at once a step back in time and a source for all the current day’s needs - an amazing variety of useful everyday items and those special items that lift your spirit. They live up to their motto ‘Fine goods for modern living’.
Walk to the back corner of Nina’s to the yarn department and step into a knitter’s dream! Knitting accessories, patterns, books, and yarn! And I mean YARN. Yarn of every color and weight and fiber (sometimes I go stand among the shelves of yarn and just breathe; you know, yarn therapy).
Thanks Nina’s for the shoutout for Percussion Rock Alpaca yarns!

Our latest little one, Sophie (left). That’s a picture of her mom Olive at about the same age. Two real beauties.
Say, these legs really work!

Beautiful day for grazing.

For the past 3 weeks, we have let the pastures rest, keeping the animals in on hay. Sunny, the barn cat decided she would control access to hay. But, the animals are happily out on the pastures again, and Sunny is left to find something else to occupy her time. Happy Spring!

Peaceful grazing and periodic rest. Looks like a good way to handle a crisis. Stay still; stay well!

Rosie, practicing social distancing. Stay still, stay safe everyone.

A new shipment of yarn! Available today at Nina's in Spring Green. We have beautiful fi*****ng weight yarn from Olive (our little multi-colored gal whose fleece makes the most luscious, silky yarn in a deep caramel color - this won't be on the shelf long) and our 80/20 yarn line (that's 80% suri alpaca and 20% merino wool), now available in a sport weight (thanks Emma and Melanie!).
New, new, new!!! Introducing Paca-Paca, a beautiful blend of gorgeous suri and huacaya fleeces, kissed with silk (10%). Paca-Paca is available in both sport and fi*****ng weights. All yarns are 3-ply, 150 yds to 300 yds. Some new patterns, too! So much fun!!
