We are incredibly grateful to The GVTC Foundation for awarding funding in support of our Community Risk Reduction Program.
This funding will help us continue placing lifesaving knowledge directly into the hands of our citizens through no-cost CPR, Stop the Bleed, AED, fire extinguisher, and emergency preparedness training. The first few minutes of an emergency matter, and prepared bystanders can truly make a difference before first responders arrive.
Thank you for believing in the importance of neighbors helping neighbors and for helping us build a safer, more prepared community.

Today, we celebrate the moms who keep families going through the chaos, the worry, the laughter, the late nights, and everything in between.

More neighbors are deciding they want to be part of the solution when an emergency unfolds.
Another eager group recently spent several hours with our crew learning Stop the Bleed and Hands-Only CPR. Real hands-on skills that build the confidence to act in those first critical moments before help arrives.
Weโre fired up to see this kind of dedication in our community and truly appreciate the time and effort these individuals put into being ready when it matters most.

Not every call involves lights and sirens. Sometimes, itโs helping a very good and very nervous pup make it safely down from a loft that suddenly felt a little too high.
When a young dog found itself stranded at the top of a steep loft staircase, our crew was called to lend a hand. To the pupโs credit, the stairs were shallow, steep, and more than a little intimidating for a four-legged descent.
Treats didnโt work. Encouragement didnโt work. Even a little gentle โbackside pushโ wasnโt enough to convince this pup to take that first step. The owner had tried everything and was understandably concerned that attempting to carry the dog down could result in a fall or injury to herself or her pet, so she reached out to us.
With a calm approach and a safe plan, our crew helped the pup back down to solid ground. It may not be the kind of call most people picture, but itโs one more way weโre here for our community. Neighbors helping neighbors, no matter the situation.

Join us to take that crucial step toward becoming a more confident and capable โimmediate responder.โ

We are incredibly grateful to Jersey Mike's Subs for their generous support of our organization!
Through their recent fundraiser, community members stopped in, enjoyed a great sandwich, and made a donation that directly supported our department. It makes a great impact on the work we do. Thanks again!

Now that the clocks have sprung forward and weโre all adjusting to one less hour of sleep, itโs the perfect time for a reminder to check and replace the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
It takes just a couple of minutes, and itโs one of the simplest things you can do to protect your home and family.

If you happen to see emergency vehicles and activity around Smithson Valley High School this morning, ๐ฅ๐ก๐๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ค๐ฃโ๐ฉ ๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ข๐๐.
Students are participating in the Shattered Dreams program, a powerful educational event designed to highlight the very real and often fatal consequences of drinking and driving. This morning, volunteer students, along with local law enforcement officers, first responders and AirLife, are taking part in a drunk driving crash scenario created to be as realistic as possible. Programs like this aim to leave a lasting impression that encourages safe choices behind the wheel.
You may notice emergency vehicles, personnel, and staged response activity as part of the scenario. Again, this is a planned educational event.
