A snapshot of some of our just harvested eggs. Lots of colors in our basket! One of the silkies has been laying eggs with calcium deposits (little bumps on the cream colored egg don't affect the egg inside). I suspect its from "Pina Colada," who had a stressful week while we were out of town last week a dog got in our yard and hurt her leg. She is recovering, but stress can cause this abnormality in eggs. This can also be caused by too much oyster shell supplements.

Birthday girl with her little chicken, Mango. February is usually frozen, but not this year. All the chickens were out to enjoy scratching in the dirt. TigerLily is enjoying the warm weather too on her 15th bday.

Finally the hens have started laying eggs again! Their winter vacation is over.
