I’m not a career politician—I’m a parent, a neighbor, and someone who believes in hard work, accountability, and community-driven leadership.

I'm running for city council to work for you to move Spokane forward. Paid for by Vote Alejandro Barrientos

Thank you, Spokane.

With the latest returns in, I’ve called Kate Telis to congratulate her on winning the District 2, Position 2 seat. Though this isn’t the outcome we hoped for, I’m deeply grateful for the support, encouragement, and belief so many of you showed throughout this campaign.

I entered this race to be of service to our community and to spark a positive, solutions-oriented dialogue about Spokane’s future. Because of your time, energy, and commitment, we built a campaign rooted in compassion, accountability, and a shared desire to make our city safer and stronger.

I’m proud that those conversations have already helped move Spokane forward—with new accountability measures and a citywide camping policy adopted just last week. It’s proof that when we lead with purpose, progress follows.

To my family, volunteers, and every supporter who gave their time, resources, and heart—thank you. While this race has ended, my commitment to Spokane has not. Let’s keep working together to make this the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

This morning we were out door-knocking and waving to neighbors on their way to work, school, and daily errands — rain and all.
Spokane showed up for us with encouraging words, honks, and friendly waves. Surrounded by the beautiful fall colors, I was reminded why this community is worth fighting for.
Let’s vote, Spokane. Our voice matters!

Today was a moment to pause, remember, and give thanks. Taking time at church this morning reminded me how important it is to reflect on the journey, to honor those who came before us, and to stay grounded in gratitude.

As we approach the end of this city council race, I thank God for every step, for my family, our volunteers, my team, and the people of Spokane who have shown support, kindness, and encouragement along the way.

This experience has brought joy, challenges, and countless lessons, and today was a beautiful reminder to stay thankful through it all!

A big thank you to Kris Hansen for leading a powerful and eye-opening tour of the Cliff Cannon Neighborhood. It’s a community rich in history and character, but it's also facing a set of complex challenges that are putting residents under pressure.
The tour made it clear that issues like traffic flow, code enforcement on problem properties, and land use concerns aren't isolated incidents. They are symptoms of a system that needs better coordination and a results-driven approach to ensure our neighborhoods get the support they deserve.

My conversation with Kris reinforced my core belief: solving these deep-rooted neighborhood issues isn’t about politics, it’s about operations. It’s about ensuring our city departments are working together efficiently and are held accountable for delivering the basic services residents expect.

The passionate residents of Cliff Cannon don't just deserve to be heard; they deserve a proactive and effective partner at City Hall. It's time for a new approach focused on getting results and delivering for our neighborhoods!

Spokane’s homelessness crisis won’t be solved by forcing volunteers or business owners to do the city’s job. Our local government must lead, take responsibility, create good policy, and restore the public’s trust.

City Council’s fundamental responsibility is to restore Public Safety. The city already has tons of volunteers that clean up the streets. The active neighborhood councils are already acting as code enforcement and solid waste with all the clean ups that we do.

Thank you to The Spokesman-Review for creating this talk about homelessness in our city!

Thank you to everyone who came to this meet and greet to show your support and share our common frustration. I’m especially grateful for the beautifully diverse community that showed up: culturally, ethnically, and politically, to stand together in the same room, proving that what unites us is stronger than what divides us!

My campaign has always been about bringing people together and reminding Spokane that this is a nonpartisan race. Our City Council should be focused on bipartisan solutions that move our city forward, because the challenges we face aren’t red or blue, they’re Spokane’s.

From day one, I’ve said we need to work together to restore Spokane and that begins with showing up in spaces where we can talk, listen, and find solutions together.

A special thank you to everyone who came out and to Thai Bamboo for the delicious food and warm hospitality!

Thank you to Charity Bagatsing, a BIPOC leader in Spokane’s Asian Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander community, for your support and for the delicious Filipino treats and goodies you shared with me. I loved them and my kiddos did too! I truly value conversations that build bridges and show the power of collaboration. Thank you again for your kindness and support!

Thank you to 4 News Now and Spokane Rotary Club 21 for highlighting the key differences between my opponent and me, and for giving us the opportunity to share our top priorities for Spokane.

Again and again, I’ve emphasized that the City Council’s fundamental responsibility is public safety. Ensuring that every neighbor feels safe in their home, their business, and their community. We have a duty to restore trust in local government and get back to serving the people of Spokane with transparency and accountability.

Let’s restore Spokane together. Vote by November 4th!
