Coronado Lawn Bowling Club (San Diego County, CA) Earth Day Yardstick Tournament proved that lawn bowling is truly “a sport for all ages” as Angel Gomez, age 18, took First Place and Bill Hiscock, age 98, took Second Place.

Great news about a young bowler representing Bowls USA overseas next month!

To all our friends up North. To all our friends in AZ from Canada.

Rich Gaffey, Sam Compogno, Stefan Fechter and one other had a donut work day today. We all enjoyed the donuts Rich brought to help keep our strength up. Thanks Mr. President!
Sam spiked the outer part of the green 4 times.
Rich verticut the entire green 2 directions and the 3 bad areas 4 times to prepare a seed bed.
Sam and Stefan reseeded the bad areas, sanded them, fertilized them and rolled them with the greens mower with 20 lbs in the basket.
Sam then mowed the entire green.
Stefan helped clean up the equipment and the entire green area.

WELL DONE ALL!

Many of you know that our 1981 ditch boards are in poor shape. Under our new President Rich Gaffey, we had a work day yesterday to replace the two worst 10 foot boards on the South end. We found these extra boards in the back of the clubhouse. Sam Compogno took them home and painted them. Thanks Sam. Yesterday Rich, Sam, Stefan Fechter and Steve/Stefano set out to replace them. It took 3 plus hours and some donuts from Retro Donuts to complete the job. See photos to see the rest of the story. Thanks guys.

Today was the graduation of Cierra and Michael. They completed the 4 lesson course offered through the Spokane Parks and Recreation. This was our second class this year.
Both Cierra and Michael are doing very well and picked up the sport quickly. Well done to you both. We are hoping to see you during regular bowling on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 pm.
