We're excited to announce the newest addition to Northwest Flight Service: our brand-new RealSimGear Cirrus G7 Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD)!

"Am I old enough to learn to fly?"

We hear this question all the time.

The answer: There is no minimum age to start flight lessons!

While you must be 16 years old to solo an airplane and 17 to earn a Private Pilot Certificate, students can begin learning long before then. Some of our youngest aviation enthusiasts start by taking introductory flights and learning the fundamentals with an instructor.

The earlier you start, the more experience you'll have when it's time to earn your wings.

Jared and Preston took the term “close friends” to a whole new level. They planned their solo cross-country flights together, departed just minutes apart, flew the same route, and returned just minutes apart.
