Our doors and hearts are open 💟🌈
At Transitions, inclusivity isn't just a policy—it is the very fabric of our spaces. Whether someone is seeking a warm meal, a safe place to rest, childcare, or a fresh start through our programs, they deserve to walk through our doors knowing they are seen, valued, and loved exactly as they are.
We stand fiercely with the LGBTQIA+ community, and we pledge to keep our spaces safe, our hearts open, and our advocacy strong. Because we cannot build a community where women and children thrive unless every individual is free to live authentically.
When we create spaces where everyone belongs, our whole community grows stronger.
Happy Pride! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

The Transitions community has experienced several losses in the last year, including two women who changed the face of Spokane through their work with Women's Hearth. We are grieved that our fellow Hearthians, Sister Cathy Beckley, founder of Women's Hearth, died November 2025, and Sister Mary Rathert, long-time Program Director of Women's Hearth and former member of Transitions Board of Members, died January 2026. These women were powerful forces for change, kindness, and care. The Hearth would not exist without their vision and leadership. Their memories will forever be a blessing.
Please join us on for a memorial in their honor:
Monday, June 29th, 2026
at the Women’s Hearth
920 W 2nd Spokane 99201
4p to 6p
It will be a Hearthian memorial. All who attend will have the opportunity to share a memory of Sisters Cathy and Mary. Light refreshments will be served.
Please send this invitation to your networks—we want to make sure as many folks come as are able. We will offer a Zoom option for those who can't attend in person: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81017061800.
RSVP to [email protected].

Peace of mind is a beautiful gift. 🕊️✨
We are overflowing with gratitude for two incredibly generous, anonymous donors who recently helped transform the safety and security across our organization.
Thanks to their kindness, all Transitions sites are now equipped with upgraded, state-of-the-art security camera systems. Even better? Our entire network of facilities is now connected on a single, unified system, allowing our teams to ensure a secure, protected environment.
For the women and children who walk through our doors, Transitions is a sanctuary—a place to heal, grow, and move forward. This upgrade ensures that our physical spaces truly reflect that sense of safety and shelter.
To our anonymous donors: thank you for standing with us, protecting our participants, and investing so deeply in our mission. Your quiet generosity makes a massive, loud impact. 💛
