But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.” Psalms 59:16-17

Does your heart ache?

Our hearts are intended to break. In fact, without a broken and contrite heart, we can’t please God. What breaks our hearts? People not knowing Jesus. People suffering. Kids that need love and protection. Young people without Jesus. Our heart’s break for the next generation. For the vulnerable. For the broken.

I was praying Psalm 10 this morning - praying for the poor and afflicted. Vs. 14 says - ‘But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.’ We want to be like Jesus, so our hearts must ache when we SEE the trouble of the afflicted, CONSIDER their grief…we must move to TAKE it in hand. We are to be a HELPER of the fatherless. This is what Jesus’ people do. This is who we are. We don’t sit at a distance with cold hearts. We see and consider and take action as helpers of those who are in need. Lord may you shape our hearts and break our hearts more and more. May we not grow cold and complacent in our small lives. May we see people and the world the way you do. Jesus shape us for your glory!
His Love changes everything!
