For one evening each June, several miles of Spokane’s South Hill streets transform into a space for bikes, skates, running shoes, sidewalk chalk, live music, and whatever other human-powered fun people decide to bring along. Spokane Summer Parkways returns June 16 with a 4-mile car-free route through the Manito and Comstock neighborhoods, inviting the community to move, connect, and play outdoors together.

A HUGE thank you to The General Store Spokane for being an incredible partner in helping local children enjoy a safe, fun, and confident summer.

This year, through their April Round Up at the Register campaign, customers and staff came together to raise an amazing $4,250.28 to support the Make a Splash in a Kid’s Life swimsuit drive. Every penny rounded up helps ensure local children have access to a brand-new swimsuit this summer.

A new swimsuit can open the door to swimming lessons, summer camps, pool outings, and other activities that help children stay active, build confidence, and create lasting memories. For many families, purchasing a new swimsuit can be a financial challenge, and these donations help remove that barrier so every child has the opportunity to participate and feel included.

Thank you to The General Store, their employees, and their customers for their generosity and dedication to our community!

We’re so grateful for amazing community partners like BECU.

For the first time this year, BECU joined our push to ensure every child can access lifesaving swim lessons.

Organizers brought in over 100 swimsuits and raised $537.50 to support Make a Splash.

Thank you, BECU, for joining us as we work to make sure all children can take swimming lessons and stay busy, healthy, and happy during the sizzling summer.
