I am so proud of all the hard work my volunteers and voters did in this election. I have conceded my race and congratulated Leonard Christian on being the next State Senator of the 4th LD.

In this campaign we made history, in the primary we won the most votes in a crowded field as a political novice - 25 year old Mexican American and I’m so proud that you made that possible.

I will always continue fighting for working class people, talking about making healthcare affordable, childcare, housing costs, cost of higher education, and supporting unions.

I grew up in a small town in Eastern Washington as the son of an immigrant father from Mexico. My father worked a union job as a forklift operator at a potato factory, and my mother was an interpreter at my elementary school and our local hospital. I would be proud to serve as the youngest elected state senator.

In a small town, you care about your neighbors—you care whether they can afford groceries, pay for housing, cover medical bills, and more. I have seen our community come together countless times to help one another, and that spirit of solidarity is what makes Eastern Washington the best place in the greatest country on earth.

Let’s work together to ensure that Eastern Washington remains a place where you don’t have to be a millionaire to hunt, fish, or live.

I think that the reason a person runs for office is important. My opponent has said his reason for running is to get a promotion, to not have to run for office as often and to get out of daily sessions in the legislature earlier. To me it’s clear who he leaves out in his reason for running and that is the working class people of the 4th legislative district.

That is why I’m running; to represent the interests of the working class. I myself am a middle class guy with a wonderful wife and three young kids at home. I know how the costs of housing, healthcare, childcare, groceries, and slow wage growth have affected families just like mine all over the district. It’s time for a Senator who puts the people first and lets them rule, not a politician who only thinks how the position will benefit him.

Let’s turn in those ballots and let’s unite the working class!

Had a great time yesterday talking and having a good time with volunteers from all across the county. We are excited for next week! Spokane county has already surpassed primary election turnout. Our campaign feels that with higher turnout, the higher likelihood of us getting a victory on election night!
