o Avoid costumes with long trailing fabric that can cause trips or catch fire.

2. TRICK-OR-TREATING SAFETY
o Go with a group or a trusted adult.
o Plan your route ahead of time and stick to well-lit streets.
o Carry a flashlight or glow sticks for visibility.
o Only visit homes with porch lights on.
o Do not enter strangers’ homes or cars.
o Use sidewalks whenever possible; if none, walk facing traffic.

3. CANDY SAFETY
o Inspect all treats before eating; discard any unwrapped or suspicious items.
o Avoid homemade treats from strangers.
o Consider allergies when selecting treats for your children.

4. PUMPKIN CARVING SAFETY
o Use pumpkin carving kits designed for kids.
