Rabbi Tamar and Miriam Berkman spoke to the Commisioners about the need for ARPA money to be used for early learning and childcare in Spokane County. Check out Spokane Alliance website, spokanealliance.org, to sign postcards to the County Commissioners on this important topic.
And a shout out to congregant, Jody Shapiro, who worked so hard as co-chair of the SA Child Care and Mental Health Research and Action Team. Unfortunately, Jody could not be there today, but his good works continue.

What an honor yesterday to attend and speak at the groundbreaking for the new Carla Peperzak Middle School. Carla, a Holocaust survivor and member of the Dutch resistance as a teenager, is still going strong at 98 years of age. She's a hero of mine and I know her story will inspire generations students in the future as the school's namesake.
