Beginning today, construction at the Spokane International Airport begins.

Arrivals/Departures curb closest to the Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines ticketing areas will be temporarily fenced off.

Be prepared for additional congestion along other part of the Airport's pickup/drop off curb.

HEADS UP TRAVELERS!

Starting Monday and continuing into early July, crews will be working adjacent to the main terminal (where Delta, Southwest, and United are) to relocate key utilities in preparation for the future Central Hall Project.

Here’s what this means for you ⬇️

✅ The crosswalk under the A/B skybridge will be CLOSED. Customers will need to use the 2nd floor Sky Bridges to access the terminal.

✅ Terminal sidewalks and vestibules will remain open, but the Arrivals/Departures curb closest to the Delta, Southwest, and United ticketing areas will be temporarily fenced off. Please plan ahead and pack your patience in anticipation of additional congestion along other parts of the Airport's pickup/drop off curb.

✅The A/B ride share pick-up location will be *slightly* different, moved just east of the sky bridge - follow the up-to-date directions in your ride share app.

✅ When in doubt, look for bright orange "Marshall" wayfinding signs to get you where you need to go.

On May 23, 2026, at the Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima, the Freeman Scotties won the WIAA 2B State Softball Championship—their first state title ever. The team closed out an outstanding 24–3 season, building on last year’s second‑place finish and becoming only the second Northeast 2B team to bring home a state championship since 2018.

This achievement reflects the hard work of 14 student‑athletes:

Seniors: Kaylee Ripke, Madi Brebner, Paige Lochmiller, and Rylee Russell;

Juniors: Avery Berglund, Tansey Coyner, Kohlie Collins, Cierra Hayek, and Sadie Stenlund;

Sophomores: Sam DuPont, Paityn Poston, Rilyn Ripke, Laurel Sefton, and Sofie Wasley,

as well as the dedication of the coaching staff, and the strong academic and athletic commitment upheld by Freeman High School. The team also maintained an impressive 3.57 GPA while competing at the highest level.

To honor this exceptional accomplishment, the Spokane County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as Freeman High School Softball State Champions Day.

Please join us in celebrating the athletes, coaches, staff, and the entire Freeman community for this historic win!
