is a small slice of the Spokane car community - I snap a few details that catch my eye, folks chattering a great decal and small nods to the caretakers of each car.

Night Zero with on ‘25 - kicked off with slot car racing, a parking lot full of rad cars and good hangs with friends from all over the map. Grateful and thankful to ride along with everyone this year.

Something said about “take the car” in a podcast episode he narrated on his own journey out from covid (which you should find and listen to) has squarely landed on me…

One year ago a ton of my hopes were dashed, 912 spun a bearing, a few unexpected medical bills, small business taking a dive when things start to feel stable. Then getting hit with hard news - that we have to move for the sale of the home we have loved, yet leased (yes shop too). Boom 💥 dashed hopes.

Somehow between a moment of disregard and a cousin who kept after me on a show - a very green 914 appeared out of no where. Twenty eight years in neglect - or in wait - with about 28 days to get it moving. A sense of purpose in hustle to get this thing put together formed. All I could think about was ordering a part to ship and land so I had a window to place / repair / mend this frog of a Porsche. It started on the second crank… hope.

hosted a short rally to early in the year. We used that as an excuse to shake it down over 2000 miles. What a rollercoaster of emotions, it broke .. like a lot. But, persistent solutions arrived to pull me out of despair stranded in the middle of the Joshua Tree desert in the form of renewed hope.

We took the car, as therapy some for me some for Randy. I think we are better for it, and I think these things as silly as it seems helps folks persist through the stresses we all have in various forms.
