Meet our next Artist Spotlight, Kelly Baker! ✨

Art advisor? Artwork matchmaker? Either way, Kelly has a knack for connecting people with pieces they’ll love—sometimes even the ones they didn’t know they were looking for.

Her relationship with Terrain feels a little like fate. After stumbling across Creative Enterprise by chance, she went on to become a huge part of bringing the original Pop-Up Shop (what we now know as From Here) to life.

Now Kelly is taking that passion for connecting artists and collectors one step further with the opening of The Front Room Art Gallery with her business partner, Chels Cordova.

Simone Johnson and Amera Gaymon love a "GOOD" story. After graduating from our Creative Enterprise program, they set out on a mission to help Black-owned businesses show up boldly and professionally, making sure they're represented in a way that feels authentic.

Using their combined talents in creative direction, visual storytelling and photography, they’ve worked with a number of purpose-driven businesses and organizations in the region. In fact, you’ve probably seen them behind the camera at BAZAAR and our flagship. 📸

Not only are these entrepreneurs out here grinding, they’re also full time moms holding it down both in the office and at home. Building a business, raising families, and showing up for their community all at the same time.

We're pretty lucky to have them in ours. 💛

Happy Birthday to one of our favorite humans, Carl Richardson! 🎉

If you've ever visited our gallery, you've seen Carl's work, even if you didn't realize it. For the past 7 years, he's been behind the installation of every show, carefully bringing each artist's vision to life. Carl has a knack for seeing the bigger picture, creating thoughtful relationships between works, and making each exhibition feel cohesive from the moment you walk through the door.

But Carl isn't just an installation wizard, he's also an incredibly talented mixed-media artist.

You can find his piece, Me, Myself and I, in the Terrain Annex. The work is a deeply personal collaboration with his mother, incorporating fabric patterns from her years as a seamstress alongside screen printing, tissue paper, and other mixed media to transform cherished materials into something entirely new.

It's a beautiful example of the care, creativity, and intention Carl brings to everything he does.

Next time you're in the Gallery, take a stroll through the Annex, spend some time with Carl's work, and if you see him today, be sure to wish him the happiest of birthdays. 🎂❤️

The holiday pushed us back a week, but we're still celebrating the opening of Light/Land/Sky, featuring work by Tim Bovey Art, Bevie LaBrie, and Heatherann Woods.

Through painting, drawing, earth pigments, reused materials, and drone-inspired perspectives, these artists explore the many ways we experience landscape, light, and place. Each brings a unique point of view, inviting us to slow down, look a little closer, and see the world differently.

Join us tonight from 5–8 PM at Terrain Gallery (628 N. Monroe) to meet the artists, explore the exhibition, and spend the evening surrounded by incredible local art.

Ever wonder what inspires one of the most legendary printmakers of our region? Meet the incomparable Mary Farrell.

Some artists find inspiration in a blank page. Mary finds it on a walk through the garden.

A branch, a tangle of twigs, the shape of a nest—these quiet moments in nature often become the starting point for her work. Through printmaking, drawing evolves into something unexpected. Each print reveals new textures, new marks, and new possibilities.

After 25 years leading Gonzaga’s printmaking program, Mary’s curiosity for the medium is as alive as ever. She still finds joy in the tactile process, getting ink on her hands, watching each print emerge, and discovering where it takes her beyond the original drawing.

Many of Mary's pieces feature nests. Not simply as homes for birds, but as symbols of family, connection, and belonging. They’re a reminder that we’re part of something larger, deeply connected to each other and to the natural world around us.

There’s a beautiful conversation between what happens outside the studio and what happens inside it. Mary’s work invites us to slow down, notice those connections, and remember that nature has been speaking to us all along.
