We believe everyone needs art — and that a more just and vibrant Spokane is possible through creativity, economic opportunity, and the collective action of everyone who dares to create.
Tomorrow's First Friday, and we've got a good one.
Join us for the opening reception of CATHARSIS, a solo exhibition from artist Duncan Menzies exploring a simple question with surprisingly complicated answers: "What do you cover?"
Through collage, Americana landscapes, photojournalism, and sculptural lamp work, Duncan's work examines how our upbringing, environment, and culture shape the parts of ourselves we choose to show, and the parts we keep hidden.
You'll also get to experience The Bedsheet Chronicles, a short documentary created with local videographer Jack Waade and housed inside an immersive bedsheet canopy installation. Equal parts cozy, nostalgic, and thought-provoking.
Come spend some time with the work, meet the artist, and see where the question takes you.
📅 June 5 | 5–8 PM
📍 Terrain Gallery | 628 N. Monroe
Show Dates | June 5–27
Gallery Hours | Thursday–Saturday, 4–7 PM
Next up in our Artist Spotlight series, meet the one and only Travis Laurence Naught! ✨ Known for his vibrant personality and incredible talent, Travis is a true creative powerhouse. He made waves with his poetry book debut in 2012, lighting up stages across Spokane and beyond. Fast forward, and a Texas publisher couldn’t resist his first fiction novel!
But wait, there’s more! Travis is now diving into music, mixing rhythm and melody with his lyrical magic while teaming up with local musicians. And when he’s not crafting words into art, he’s got his hands full with comics—over 400,000 of them! Yep, that’s the perk of running WC Collectibles with his dad.
If you know Travis, you know there’s always a good story waiting to be told. His work is all about curiosity, community, and the joy of creativity. We loved peeking into his world, filled with inspiration and the reminder that what excites us often becomes our greatest work.
Join us in celebrating Travis and the creative adventure he’s on!

They did the thing!!! 💜
After weeks of dreaming big, building confidence, sharpening ideas, and putting in the work, this incredible group stepped into a room full of people and shared their businesses, passions, and creative visions — and WOW, did they deliver.
We’re endlessly proud of these brilliant humans for showing up, taking risks, and absolutely knocking it out of the park. Spokane, keep your eyes on these folks… they’re making moves.
Huge love to our Creative Enterprise coaches and co-instructors, Lu Hill () and Katie Staib, for guiding this year’s cohort with care and encouragement every step of the way.
And a MASSIVE thank you to our program partners for helping make this program possible:

The Table is Set is an exploration of the act of gathering around the dinner table through a whimsical lens. While studying abroad in Costa Rica, Liv Hebert Watkins' began to ponder the idea of home as it transcends geography, language, cultural variation and familial connection. Finding the beauty of communal life at the table. Her work invites you to come, gather, pull up a seat and experience the warmth of community.
This Thursday - Saturday is your last chance to have a seat at the table. Trust that this show is something special; you'll want to make the time to see the intricate beauty of each piece.
Gallery Hours: Thur-Sat, 4-7PM

Big love to the incredible Andrea Williams 💛
Andrea has been showing up for Terrain since our 6th flagship event (yes, SIXTH 🤯), and if you’ve spent time around Terrain, chances are you’ve felt her impact. From being a Creative Enterprise coach and Terrain Talks panelist to becoming a monthly donor (literally swapping one night out a month to support the arts 🥹), she’s someone who truly walks the walk.
After 20 years in radio + advertising, getting unexpectedly fired turned into the start of something new: founding Happy Tails Marketing, now supporting artists, musicians, and small businesses across the PNW.
When she’s not outsmarting the algorithm, you can find her hanging with her chiweenies Anchovy + Martini, checking out local art, or exploring Spokane’s food scene.
Andrea, thank you for all you do for Terrain and our creative community. We’re lucky to know you 💫
