Adventures in fabric and fibers.

Happy New Year, a month late. The days and months since Thanksgiving have been a total blur and full of radical change. My husband and I used to joke that when it was time for my youngest to head to college, we’d just pack up one big truck, drop him off at school, and keep on driving. Well, when Ethan went off to Baylor in August, we had no plans to go anywhere. But life unfolds in unexpected ways, and by November, we had job opportunities in the PNW - well, technically the Inland Northwest, as I have since learned. After 22 years in Texas, we were getting out! 22 years is a long time in any place, let alone one that doesn’t feel like home. But moving is painful even in the best of situations, and a half-cross-country move is all the more so. The past few months have been extremely stressful but we’re here in Spokane now, slowly getting settled, and so excited to be in a place with so much hiking and exploring to take advantage of. I’m thrilled to say that I am still working in the industry - what a blessing! Now I’m on the retail side versus the manufacturing side, working as a pattern writer for Shabby Fabrics - a wonderful company and brand. I get to work on patterns all day long and I just love it! I don’t get on social media much these days, and I don’t have a sewing room in our new home right now - my husband is talking about carving out Lady Land 2.0 for me somewhere in the house, but it’s not a priority. So I don’t know what will show up in these little squares of mine on social media - maybe adventuring pics, maybe other crafts, maybe nothing at all. But whatever I do or don’t post, as always, my brand name rings true - My Wandering Path is still unfolding. ❤️

Hey DFW friends! A few friends and I are having a giant in-person destash next Saturday, November 22 from 10 AM-5 PM(ish). My stash is out of control and it’s time to rehome some of these fabrics! 😁 I will have hundreds of FQs, some yardage, lots of FQ bundles, jelly rolls, charm packs, layer cakes, mini charm packs, back issues of American Patchwork and Quilting, quilt books, and more! Interested in shopping my stash? DM for the address! And please feel free to share this with other DFW area quilters! 😘

My new favorite quilt. 😍 Finally cracked open a bundle of Vive la France and Vive la France Wovens to make a new sample of my Provence quilt, and I loooove how it turned out! I am slowly but surely updating some of my older patterns so that they print better, have more efficient cutting/piecing instructions, and have features like fabric swatch charts and coloring pages to help you keep track of the fabrics you’re using. Provence is the latest pattern to get an update! The instructions now feature 4-at-a-time flying geese construction, but you’re going to love it because you’ll make your flying geese oversized and then trim them down to perfection! Find the new and improved Provence pattern in my Etsy shop!
